21.01.2022 Recently I have had a few patients ask me whether it is safe to see a chiropractor while pregnant. Chiropractic care during pregnancy is safe, and can in fact be very beneficial. During pregnancy the body goes through numerous changes. Some changes are visible, such as weight gain and fluid retention. Others are not visible, for example, nausea and hormonal changes. Some of these changes cause an increase in the curvatures of the spine, forward head carriage and pelvic problems. This puts excessive stress on the spinal joints which can lead to lower back pain and discomfort.
