25.01.2022 Dear Parents/Carers/Students We made it! One of the hardest terms in school history!! The students have done extremely well with our online learning model. Covid-19 challenged us all to think differently and I am very proud of how we all worked together to get our students over the line. Staff could not have done the work required without the support of the families. ... We will continue with our Covid-19 caution into Term 3, with hand sanitising and social distancing. Students have accepted this as our new normal. Reports were emailed out on the last day of school, if you have not received these please contact the main office [email protected]. Myself and the team wish you all the best for a safe and well deserved break. Attached are a few photos of some of the highlights of Term 2. Regards Kathy Hadley Head of Campus

20.01.2022 Dear Parents & Carers The Premier has announced that from Monday 11 May, 2020 students in Year 11 are able to return to school. We recognised that some of our parents and carers may choose to keep their child at home due to concerns about COVID-19 and this is respected. If you choose to do this, we ask that you contact the school to discuss how we can support you as you continue to home school your child. This is an acceptable decision and your child wont be marked as be...ing absent, rather that they are learning from home. It is important for parents to advise the school of student absence as you would normally do, and discuss any support you may need. We would ask parents and carers to pay particular attention to the requirement for adults to maintain physical distancing of 1.5m at all times if you need to be on school grounds. Parents and carers should not gather in areas around the school such as carparks, in the foyer (ground floor) and outside classroom areas during this time. It is essential that you keep your child home from school if they are unwell. Parents or carers of any child showing signs of illness will be asked to collect them immediately from the school. We look forward to welcoming our Year 11 cohort back to school on Monday 11th May, and would like to thank all of our parents and carers for your support and understanding during these challenging times. As mentioned please do not hesitate in contacting us on 07 5628 3300 if you have any concerns regarding your childs return to school. Kind Regards Kathy Hadley Head of Campus

19.01.2022 Dear Parents/Carers PLEASE KEEP SICK CHILDREN AT HOME To assist us in keeping the school safe during this latest COVID-19 development, and in light of the fact that Logan has been highlighted as a COVID hotspot. IT IS CRITICAL that you DO NOT send your child to school if they are at all unwell. If a child attends school unwell they will be isolated and you will be asked to come and collect them or arrange to have them collected immediately. If any close family member is be...ing tested for COVID-19, DO NOT send your child to school until a negative test result has been received. The common symptoms of COVID-19 are a fever (a temperature higher than 37.5 degrees), a cough, sore throat, runny nose, fatigue, shortness of breath, loss of taste and loss of smell. Please also ensure your child brings their own water bottle to school every day to avoid any potential transmission of germs. We thank you for your continued support during this time. Kathy Hadley Head of Campus

08.01.2022 Happy Mothers Day to all our wonderful Mothers, Grandmothers and Stepmothers. We wish you a wonderful day.

06.01.2022 Dear parents and carers As announced by the Queensland Government, students in Years 2 10 will be able to return to school on MONDAY 25 MAY 2020. Why are more students returning to school?... As Queensland is continuing to see a low number of COVID-19 cases and a positive response to physical distancing measures, the decision has been made to allow all students to return to school. This decision, supported by Queenslands Chief Health Officer, is in line with the progressive easing of restrictions as part of the Governments response to COVID-19. Is this decision supported by health advice? Yes. Queenslands Chief Health Officer supports this decision and has provided specific advice. The staged return to school over several weeks has provided critical time for schools to develop and implement arrangements to ensure the return can be made safely. What arrangements are teachers required to make for students who choose not to attend school? Where parents choose for their child to continue learning at home, both supervision and continuity of learning are the responsibility of the parent or carer. Schools should offer advice about learning activities that can be undertaken, and they may choose to offer additional support based on the circumstances, but the classroom teacher is not responsible for providing a home-based learning program for these students. The learning@home website will remain available and continue to be updated with new resources for Prep Year 10 throughout Term 2. Schools can direct parents and students to the relevant year-level units of work. Students can also view quality curriculum-based television programs on three different stations - program information can be found on the learning@home website. I ask parents and carers to pay particular attention to the requirement for adults to maintain physical distancing of 1.5m at all times if you need to be on school grounds. Parents and carers should not gather in areas around the school such as carparks, in the foyer (ground floor) and outside classroom areas during this time. It is essential that you keep your child home from school if they are unwell. In accordance with Queensland Health Directions parents or carers of any child showing signs of illness will be asked to collect them immediately from the school. My sincere thanks go to all our parents and carers for your support and understanding during these challenging times. Kind Regards Kathy Hadley Head of Campus

03.01.2022 The Non-State Schools Transport Assistance Scheme (NSSTAS) is an initiative funded by the Queensland Government through the Department of Education (DoE) and administered by QCEC. It provides financial assistance to families transporting children to non-state schools in Queensland. NSSTAS has two programs available to Queensland residents: Bus Fare Assistance Program (BFAP) (Non-state schools located outside the Brisbane City Council (BCC) boundary).... The Bus Fare Assistance Program (BFAP) provides financial assistance to families who pay more than a nominated weekly threshold in bus/ferry fares to transport their student to a non-state school located outside the Brisbane City Council (BCC) boundary. Funding for this program is capped and thresholds are set based on forecast demand. Students With Disability (SWD) The Students With Disability (SWD) program provides financial assistance to families of those students whose disability necessitates transport assistance to and from a non-state school by means that consider their disability. Parents of children attending a school within the Brisbane City Council (BCC) boundary are only eligible for the SWD rebate. Parents of children attending a school outside the BCC boundary are eligible for the SWD and BFAP rebate. More information about the rebates can be found at https://schooltransport.com.au. TransLink also provide a guide for parents https://translink.com.au/tr/school-travel/guide-for-parents.

03.01.2022 Dear Parents/Carers Please keep sick children home To assist us in keeping the school safe during this latest COVID development, it is critical that you do not send your child to school if they are unwell. If a child attends school unwell they will be isolated and you will be asked to come and collect them immediately.... Social distancing We are encouraging students to exercise social distance at school of no less than 1.5 meters. Desks and work spaces are being readjusted to support this intention. This is a challenge in all workplaces and a school is no different with students needing constant reminding to socially distance. Please ensure your child brings their own water bottle to school every day to avoid any potential transmission of germs. Visitors and parents on campus Visitors and parents are not permitted to enter the building, we ask parents and visitors to phone administration on 07 5628 3300 if you need to meet with staff. If you do need to attend, then please wash your hands-on arrival at the nearest bathroom and practice social distancing of 1.5M with others. We are also asking parents to only physically attend the school if necessary.
