21.01.2022 A raft of ducks gather on the lake near the bridge as I go for my morning coffee

20.01.2022 Today, after finishing the new board walk made from the recycled timber off the old decks, we bravely headed over to the lake for a swim. The water temp has really cooled so instead of swimming we breast stroked (without putting our head under the cold). One of the advantages of not having our view marred by goggles was that we spotted a sea eagle gracefully gliding the surface of the lake and then circling around as he searched for fish. Unsuccessful in his pursuit he fle...w to a high branch of a tree to get a better vantage point while he waited. Within minutes he was off again rapidly gliding the lake until he skimmed the water and with bulls-eye precision he grabbed and carried his catch back into the air flying above us until we lost sight of him into the high trees. Yet another magic day enjoyed to the full in this incredible natural paradise!! See more

19.01.2022 Nothing better than some fresh cool water to splash around in at the end of the day.! This little willy wagtail was cooling off in the heat yesterday. So relaxing watching these little guys.

16.01.2022 Cant believe how much the water has warmed up in the lake - its crystal clear after being open to the sea for so long and it doesnt feel like I just drank a too cold milkshake when I put my head in anymore. The last couple of weeks has seen the lake all but closed off to the sea- a tiny trickle only remaining. So peaceful and beautiful in this neck of the woods - I have to pinch myself sometimes as a reminder its real.

07.01.2022 Can you believe January is all done and dusted? Holiday-makers have largely returned to their normal day to day and our little piece of paradise is back to its tranquil peaceful state. February and March are our best months to visit - The crystal clear water in the lake is the perfect temperature for swimming. Yesterday we had some drizzle but between showers the sun poked out from behind a cloud and I went for a swim. IT FELT LIKE A BATH - the water temperature was that warm! Later in the early evening on my walk I took these photos. Not sure if they capture the stillness of the moment but believe me - no matter what the weather - its very special here at The Springs on Swan Lake.

06.01.2022 Cycling back from coffee this morning we were admiring the crystal clear mirror-like surface as the sun shimmered on Swan Lake when we heard the hum of Justin Hemmes sea plane which touched down beside us on one of his many visits. What a great way to get here - Just 40 minutes from Rose Bay!

05.01.2022 Happy New Year and Happy Holidays to all of you from all of us here at The Springs on Swan Lake. Christmas has come and gone and a brand new 2017 year is unfolding and we have been hard at work enjoying great weather, accommodating friendly chilled out guests and watching amazing sunsets. We hope your year is as beautiful as this sunset photographed on the lake.

01.01.2022 A magic day down here today - warm and balmy. Summer is calling...

01.01.2022 Lake is still open and crystal clear. But between walks, rides and swims there's been much to do... We've been spring cleaning and counting down to the Christmas Holidays (which are just around the corner!!) Too early to deck the halls with boughs and holly but at least its been a good time to finally replace those old decks.
