23.01.2022 I’m sure I’ve told this story before, but if you’re new here you may not have seen it. Social media & people in general like to hide reality, create a facade if you will. It can paint the idea that life is perfect, you are happy and things have gone to plan. - This photo is from the Royal Adelaide Show in 2018, I was about to live a dream I had had since I was 3... 3 weeks before this photo I suffered one of the worst flare-ups I’ve ever had. I was unable to sit myself up, dr...ess & wash myself or walk. I began a 3 week course of treatment in hospital, I was lying in hospital exactly a week before this photo thinking the dream was gone... - Until now I haven’t shared that in April we found my illness to have spread to my elbow, bringing with it an array of new symptoms and challenges. I have struggled, I have wanted to give up. - This was never shared because I wasn’t ready to deal with it myself, let alone share. These are both examples however, that you never really have an idea of what someone deals with personally, how much they suffered to get to the photo you see in your feed. - Be kind, be happy for people’s success, share in the hard times and never forget to smile... life’s hard, it is for everyone at some point... enjoy all the good be it your success or someone else’s xx - #thestandiewhocan See more

16.01.2022 I have to admit I have been doing something that I have tried so hard to avoid on this account- posting all of the good to paint an unrealistic picture. I know how badly this affected me at the start of my journey & I feel it’s important for me to address. Despite what my account has shown, for me health wise the last 7.5 weeks have been extremely hard. My body is currently busy fighting against itself and causing havoc. Social media can easily paint unrealistic pictures of... all aspects of life. If you’re struggling, know you’re not the only one, even if social media makes it appear so. Whatever you’re struggling with in life, do what you can today & be brave. Don’t spend your energy fighting against reality like I have been these past weeks. Spend your energy to hold onto what makes you happy, what gives you hope... And to all of my beautiful friends who fight this disease everyday, I admire you endlessly xxx - #storminateacup #crpsawareness

10.01.2022 Tomorrow is Colour the World Orange Day, a worldwide event to raise awareness of CRPS/RSD My journey started at 14years old & I was paralysed within a week... 7 years later and I have learnt to ride, walk and live again however I am heavily reliant on mobility aids, medication, hospitalisation and treatment. Why is this day important? Here are the hard facts: - 5000 Australian’s are diagnosed with CRPS each year... - CRPS is ranked as the most painful disease in the world, a pain so great it is ranked above digit amputation without anaesthetic & childbirth - 25% of patients develop a secondary movement disorder - there is no cure and very limited treatment Awareness is vital for diseases such as these which are desperately underfunded and lacking research. Landmarks all over the world will be lit orange tomorrow night. If you’re wearing orange tomorrow, please tag me and use the hashtag #CRPSawarenessday- I would love to see them To all of the special people and horses who have been with me on this journey, thank you- I owe you xxx
