25.01.2022 52 TREASURES Treaty or Articles of Union Born out of the shared desire for the Unification of Freemasonry in Queensland, the Treaty or Articles of Union was sig...ned on the 27th of April 1921 AD 5921 AL. This document brought together the Grand Lodge of Queensland Est. 1904 and the Queensland Grand Lodge est. 1920, whereby they resolved there "Shall hereafter be full, perfect, and perpetual union of and between the two Grand Lodges"... Thus, the United Grand Lodge of Antient Free and Accepted Masons of Queensland came into fruition. The Articles sit on display at every meeting of Grand Lodge and is considered one of our most treasured artifacts in the Archive, Library and Museum Collection. TRIVIA QUESTION: Whose likeness is portrayed in the centre of the Queensland Grand Lodges embossed seal?

22.01.2022 52 TREASURES The United Grand Lodge of Queensland Minute Book No. 1 A Grand Lodges authority and strength in the world of Masonry largely stem from its Legitima...cy of Origin, and the institution's Archive is the means in which its Origin is evidenced. "I'll check the Archive" has always been a favored phrase within the hallowed halls of Grand Lodge and for good reason. The foundation stone of the UGLQ Archive is the original, signed No. 1 Minute Book. Bound in leather, and part of a beautiful set of 4 volumes, recording the formation and first years of the United Grand Lodge of Queensland. Many of you will certainly have seen the printed, bound copies of the UGLQ proceedings which remain in the Library for reference, however, these beautiful volumes remain locked and vaulted to ensure their longevity.

But 7 months ago we started a private page for Australian Freemasons only where you have to be an Australian Mason t...o join so far we have 799 members all of who are Australian. We are getting regular contact and a good vibe where it’s safe for EA and FC Freemasons to ask questions and photos of other lodge rooms right around the country. So far we only have 23 from Melbourne I would love to see all you guys join and contribute and invite your brothers to join. Again admin if not ok please delete. 10.01.2022 52 TREASURES MW Bro Alexander Corrie's Grand Master Regalia Also celebrating its Centenary is the Regalia of UGLQ's first Grand Master, MW Bro Alexander Corrie.... MW Bro Corrie was invested with the authority of District Grand Master of the District Grand Lodge of Queensland (EC) in 1915, was the first and only Grand Master of the Queensland Grand Lodge 1920-1921, and was installed as the first Grand Master of the United Grand Lodge of Queensland on 27 April 1921. This regalia, worn with honour and distinction for the last 20 years of his life, has remained a cornerstone of the Archive, Library and Museum Collection since passing into our care in the early 1940's. Very much indicative of the English style of Grand Master's aprons, before the Queensland masonic designs came into their own. This beautiful example of craftsmanship was made from the highest quality gold bullion embroidery, genuine lambskin, watermark moire ribbon and fine silks.
