The position involves reception duties at the Information and Amenities Building including; Receipt and accounting for entrance fees Sale of Merchandise... Provision of information regarding the shed and its history Booking organised tours General cleaning of the building in accordance with current COVID 19 requirements Hours will be rostered in three hourly shifts over seven days and will generally involve 9 to 12 hours weekly. 22.01.2022 TEMPORARY CLOSURE To help stop the spread of COVID-19, The Stick Shed will be temporarily closed to the public from 2pm, Sunday 22 March 2020. This is a time for us to be aware and proactive about this current situation, and protect our local community, volunteers, staff, and of course our visitors to this wonderful icon in Murtoa, Victoria during this unprecedented crisis. 18.01.2022 The St Arnaud Railway Station will be reopening on Friday, November 13th at 11am., featuring the work of Rebecca Warr in her Exhibition of paintings entitled ‘Plethora’. Copies of her recently published and illustrated book will also be available for purchase in the Gallery. 06.01.2022 STICK SHED COMMITTEE PLANNING FOR FUTURE As the Murtoa Stick Shed is a community asset the Committee of Management is seeking feedback from interested members of the community into its Strategic Plan. The committee is preparing a five year plan for the future and is seeking comments in a review of its current practices and looking for ideas on how the Stick Shed can be better utilized.... Chairman of the Stick Shed Committee of Management Cr. Tom Hamilton said Due to the current restrictions on the numbers of people who can be together at the one time the committee is conducting a short survey to obtain ideas for input into the plan from the general community. Interested members of the Community are asked to consider the following questions and submit ideas in writing to the Committee of Management Q1. What role do you see the Stick Shed playing in this community? Q2 What aspect of the Stick Shed makes you feel proud? Q3 What other Stick Shed related thoughts would you like to share? 05.01.2022 Sunday sunshine at The Stick Shed! What a lovely day to visit this precious example of World War II architecture. Its the only one left of its kind and we have it here in Murtoa. Open 10am til 12.30pm Monday-Saturday and 10am - 2pm Sunday.

02.01.2022 The Stick Shed to Reopen on Monday 22 June 2020 The Stick Shed will reopen its doors to the public on Monday 22 June. With the gradual easing of restrictions due to COVID-19, many Victorians are now back on the road and with school holidays commencing next week the Committee of Management have taken the decision to reopen the shed for public viewing. Normal opening hours of Monday to Saturday 10am-12:30pm and Sunday 10am-2pm will apply.... To ensure staff, volunteers and visitors remain safe, hygiene and social distancing rules will be strictly applied for all visitors to The Stick Shed, and in accordance with Government regulations all visitors will be required to provide their contact details. These measures will ensure that staff remain safe and that visitors can experience this truly wonderful icon in rural Victoria safely. To remain up-to-date with the current restrictions, please visit www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/victorias-restriction-levels-covid-19 prior to your visit to the amazing Stick Shed in Murtoa.
