09.05.2022 From 12.01 am 1 December 2020, all people in health care settings must wear a single-use surgical mask (covering mouth and nose) at all times when in the physic...al presence of other people on the premises. All people includes: care providers patients clients residents administrative and other staff employees visitors students contractors any other person on the premises There are exceptions for mandatory mask use in health care settings. A person is exempt where the mask will hinder the care which is being provided, there is a medical condition, communication with a person who is deaf or hard of hearing is required, the person is under 12 and the person is a live in staff member or a resident of a residential care facility. The definition of a health care setting includes GP clinics, public and private hospitals and specialist practices (including drug and alcohol facilities), pharmacies, allied health services, dental services and Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services. 23.01.2022 An excellent read

23.01.2022 Compelling research

21.01.2022 The process of discerning when to open the doors to do massage/manual therapies again involves keeping as up-to-date as possible with the latest research/recommendations while also navigating some pretty complex ethical dilemmas as practitioners this is not a time to prioritise income over people’s well-being/lives. The truth is that infectious disease experts, and those at the top of their game in related fields, don’t know enough about COVID-19 yet to draw any meaningful ...conclusions. They are learning new and sometimes surprising things about how the virus is transmitted and how it affects those who contract it. And until they know more, we will not be putting our amazing Studio folks at risk by making any assumptions and ‘pushing on through’. While it has been really tricky saying no to doing treatments (for the time being) on those we care about and have journeyed with for years, we agree with the following sentiment from the attached article: ...we must be cautious and conservative, so that we can keep to our promise to do no harm. And we are still here for you: to provide personalised advice on how to self-manage muscular aches and pains for phone or Zoom counselling, psychotherapy, art therapy, and naturopathy appointments Take good care of yourselves and each other

16.01.2022 Self-care suggestions for a challenging time. A long read, however, an important read for those who need it

11.01.2022 It’s not quite time to open the doors to massage and manual therapies again yet, folks not unless this (as seen in the video) is the kind of massage you want to book in for! We hope you are all keeping well, safe, and buoyant in these surreal and interesting times. We will keep you updated about the return of on-site services (phone / Zoom counselling and naturopathy appointments are still available) and won’t return until we’re absolutely certain that there will be no ri...sk to you, your therapist, or the immune-compromised / elderly and vulnerable in our population. Warm wishes from your friends at The Studio Ps. We’re only a text or phone call away if you need any free advice on helpful ways to keep your body as free from aches / tightness as possible while the need for social distancing remains
