Last week I ran Part 3 of the 'How to Build a Flattering, Stylish and Sustainable Wardrobe' workshop as part of the City of Port Adelaide Enfield's WiseMove for Women program. We had so much fun! ... We talked a lot about utilizing what you already have in your wardrobe and using it in different ways... It inspired me to get into my own wardrobe over the weekend and I styled up a storm and I came up with loads of new outfits to wear over the coming months... 20.01.2022 STYLE GOAL #3 // Wear more of your wardrobe What does that mean? ... It means that if you are like most people you wear 20% of whats in your wardrobe 80% of the time. So, what Im saying is start wearing the other 80% more Why? Because often times the reason youve got your favourites (the 20%) is youre in a bit of a rut And chances are there are a whole lot of amazing options just sitting there feeling unloved Aim? Wear the pieces that havent gotten out much more Make a date with your wardrobe and get in and get creative Come up with some new favourite outfits using pieces you rarely wear, AKA shopping in your own wardrobe! 19.01.2022 STYLE GOAL #5 // Find and fill your gaps What does that mean? ... OK, when I do a wardrobe edit amongst many other things, I look for the gaps. Wardrobe gaps are the missing pieces Why? Because once you find and fill them, so many more outfit options will open up. Aim? To be able to wear those pieces in your wardrobe that you cant because they dont have a partner in crime to shine with And sometimes to add a bit of fun to elevate your style... My clients often call me the gap finder, kind of funny I know, but it's so important to know whats missing and what you need to add to get things working better and really maximizing your wardrobe investments. 17.01.2022 FAQ // Should I wait to lose the weight I want to lose before I have my styling session? This question comes up in 70% of my enquiries I know we all have our thing... where we put things on hold until XYZ happens... I know Ive done that... But I dont anymore... because Ive learned that all we have is NOW So here are my 3 reasons why I say NO to this question 1. A great number of my clients have told me they lost weight after our sessions and attributed that to looking fabulous and consequently feeling more confident (and less stressed out about what to wear and how they look) 2. If you do lose weight you can always alter the clothes you have or buy more clothes Its not the end of the world 3. You may or may not ever lose that weight. and you can and deserve to look AMAZING now! So dont wait or hesitate to do something that will positively change the way you look and the way you feel. Today I'm heading to run a workshop for 15 women focusing on minimizing our fashion footprint by understanding how to build a fabulous, flattering and sustainable Wardrobe. This is a City of Port Adelaide Enfield initiative and is part of a 10 Week community program called WiseMove for Women. ... 07.01.2022 QUESTION // What percentage of your wardrobe do you actually wear? 20%? 50%? 90% This is an interesting one isnt it?... The widely quoted statistic is that most women wear 20 30% of their wardrobes and when I first start working with a client that rings pretty true... That means the same items are on high rotation leaving the rest unworn and unloved. My aim is to get that percentage way closer to 100%...
