23.01.2022 Last week Jess and Parris spent two days attending an advanced cutting course. They had both hoped to gain a few hints and tips from the course, but in fact they learned so much more than they had hoped! Both girls have returned to the salon full of new knowledge, skills and techniques and are already looking forward to another two days learning in November!

20.01.2022 The Styling Stable is saying a sad farewell to our Superstar Stylist Corinne this week Corinne has been on maternity leave for the last couple of months, after the arrival of beautiful little Sophie, and we have recently received the news that Corinne and family will be relocating to Toowoomba next month. Corinne has been such a big and wonderful part of our salon for the last three years and we have absolutely loved having her as part of our salon family. Corinne will be missed by our clients *almost* as much as our team will miss her And we wish her all the very best for her new adventures ahead.

I’ve been at the salon for almost 6 months but have been hairdressing for 3 years.... Hairdressing is my passion and I spend a lot of time perfecting my skills. I am confident in men’s cutting and love being creative with colour. I love to see a client’s hair goals or dreams finally achieved. Seeing a client walk out with a smile and feeling amazing is my favourite thing. I thrive on a good challenge, as it keeps me on my toes, and I learn new skills in the process. In my downtime I enjoy hanging out with family and friends, eating food and chilling with my dog, Toby and going on new adventures.

I love all things colour, but I do have a huge passion to create the perfect blonde and balayage the most. Throughout my career I have attended alot of extra training courses to help further my skills. Whether it's learning something new or refreshing my memory, I like to learn from the best there is. I’m a mum to two beautiful little girls, who are both so very different but keep me on my toes, and 7 years engaged to the man of my dreams (one day we will make it down the isle). We love to go camping and get outdoors as often as possible with the kids. So if you have any places where you like to go, please tell me as we love to try new places!

05.01.2022 MEET OUR TEAM! I’m Janis and I am the owner and manager here at The Styling Stable. I have been a part of this amazing industry for 25+ years, and have been a salon owner for over 20 years. I have a huge and lifelong passion for the hairdressing industry! I wanted to be a hairdresser almost from the moment I was born (as a little girl I would cut and colour my dolls’ hair, and was forever asking if I could braid other peoples hair, or even pretend to wash the other neighbour...hood kids hair under the hose in the back yard). While I am no longer actively making people beautiful on the salon floor, my passion is no less now than it was 25years ago when I first started in the industry. I still love spending time in the salon talking to our clients and helping our team grow into even better stylists! And I love sharing my skills with apprentices and training them to become incredible stylists! I love talking to people about their hair and teaching them how to manage it better themselves at home. . . But my favourite thing is watching my amazing team create such beautiful hair for our clients. My work is my biggest passion (and my business is like my first child), but here are a few fun facts about me that you may not already know: I am a Mum to two teenage girls who are MAD about horses My family has a cute little border collie named Batgirl I love dancing (and have even performed on stage a couple of times at the Townsville Cultural Fest and a few other events) I love the beach , and I love the bush (and I love taking picnics at both places) I love running (although am terribly unfit at the moment and would likely die if I attempted to run more than a few metres) I spend most afternoons visiting the horse paddock, and I like to ride a little pony named Wazza (who absolutely MELTS my heart) I love travelling and visiting new places (in Australia and abroad) I have been Scuba diving in Fiji, PNG, Bali and on the Great Barrier Reef I love designing and making my own clothes (in fact I almost signed up to study fashion design instead of hairdressing when I finished high school)

Jess and Parris have also been learning from Jules today, and are continuing training with him tomorrow. The salon will be closed tomorrow (Tuesday 24th) while Jess and Parris attend Jules’ training and Bri and Candace attend college for further apprentice training ... Our superstar team will be back to look after you at 9am Wednesday morning

We've loved having Tanaya on our team for the last year or so, but sadly it's time to say goodbye as Tanaya's family are relocating to NSW. We all wish Tanaya the very best for continuing her hairdressing apprenticeship in her new town :-)
