Right now, all 3 of these plants are kept outside on the second tier of a 3 tier shelf with my other shade loving succulents. 13.01.2022 I’ll be working on propagating some Myrtillocactus geometrizans ‘Fukurokuryuzinboku’ aka the boob cactus in Spring for those who are wondering . Mind you, they don’t grow as quick as many of my indoors. Also, most rare cacti and succulents can’t be tissue cultured. But be patient, I’m sure more will pop up here and there . What succulents and cacti taught me was patience. Their slow growth enabled me to find joy and appreciation of plants already in my collection. I know... a lot of people who have been caught in a rabbit hole of keeping up with the next big plant trend. If you are not careful, this can detract away from the passion that made you love the hobby in the first place. Having gratitude and perspective will help us all realise that the feeling we get from new plants can be achieved with the plants we already have. 09.01.2022 Temperatures expected to reach up to 38 degrees Celsius here in Sydney . Tip: Keep your plants out of direct sunlight during this time. This does not only go for houseplants, but also for some sensitive succulents not accustomed to direct sunlight during heat waves as the leaves can burn. All my succulents are kept outside but are shaded with 50% shade cloth. Some like my Adenia Glauca seedlings are protected under a greenhouse with an additional 2 layers of shade cloth. Except for this particular Glauca which lives happily inside my home . Has anyone read A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle?
