25.01.2022 Did you know that 1 in 6 young people have experienced homelessness? We were pretty shocked after hearing this stat, and we wanted to do something about it. That's why we created #classroomconversations, to help build a better understanding about homelessness amongst young people. These school holidays, we are encouraging kids to sign up for Sudsy Challenge to help raise funds and awareness for our friends on the street. Get involved at https://bit.ly/2ZonLXV

25.01.2022 Big thanks to all our amazing Sudsy Challengers who chose to have conversations about homelessness over the last month - here is just one of them. "I suffer from PTSD after an accident and I've struggled with many things, but having convos and chatting to others - both strangers and close friends and family - is not one of them. To be able to feel like I can help others again has helped me so much. I’ve met some truly wonderful people who have fallen on hard and harder times. There is a common misconception around homelessness. My orange Sudsy shirt was definitely a convo starter. Being a mumma bear myself made this challenge even more meaningful to me and I’m happy to have joined in." - Haylee

25.01.2022 There are two Sudsy Challenge weekends to go, and you've got until Sunday at 12pm to sign up for weekend four, raise your $24 and receive a t-shirt. Nic and Lucas are taking on the challenge from October 2-4, and they'd love you to join their team and help them start conversations across Australia. Get involved here: https://bit.ly/3m30d4y

24.01.2022 Huge shout out to Sudsy Challenger Mae, who is rocking this fabulous t-shirt for three days over the weekend! For those who missed out on a Sudsy tee, we hope this gives you some inspiration on how you can choose a loud outfit that will be sure to start some conversations. "What’s so important about this shirt? Apart from its gloriousness, it’s also the shirt I will wear as part of the Sudsy Challenge this weekend. I will be wearing the same outfit for 3 days straight to star...t conversations about homelessness in Australia, and raising money for Orange Sky Australia to help provide warm showers, laundry, and conversation to the 1 in 200 Australians facing homelessness every night. I was too late in registering to get their bright orange conversation starter t-shirt so I thought this one, gifted to me by my husband, would be an acceptable alternative and should get a few comments to help start the conversation." - Mae

23.01.2022 Happy Saturday! It's day two of the challenge and we hope everyone keeping their kit on this weekend has some fun activities planned (although not sure if our idea of 'fun' is a bike ride....)

23.01.2022 Hey all you weekend two Sudsy Challengers! We hope you're having a great second day so far and have started some amazing conversations. We love seeing photos of you (or your furry friend!) in your Sudsy kit, so don't forget to snap a photo, share it using the hashtag #chooseyourconvo and tag Orange Sky. Elders Insurance Leongatha & Phillip Island

22.01.2022 Missed your chance to get a Sudsy shirt? This year we are offering a prize for the most creative Sudsy outfit. All you have to do is share a pic in your wildest outfit, something that screams 'I am doing The Sudsy Challenge' and you'll go into the draw to win a years supply of toilet paper donated by Social Bums. Make sure you tag Orange Sky Australia or The Sudsy Challenge to be in the running and use the hashtag #keepyourkiton.

22.01.2022 Shout out to Jane, who braved the 38 degree heat in Derby, WA (and a bowl of pasta in her white shirt!) for The Sudsy Challenge. Jane decided to wear her Rotary Club t-shirt for the three days, which meant she had to work extra hard to have conversations to raise awareness for our friends. Keep up your great work Jane! #chooseyourconvo

22.01.2022 Hurry! Today is officially your last chance to raise your $24 and get your hands on one of our 2020 Sudsy t-shirts. The cut off is at midnight tonight, so make sure you get it done in time to receive your shirt for weekend 4 of the challenge. #keepyourkiton

22.01.2022 Orange Sky volunteer and 2020 Sudsy Challenger, Kathryn was kitted up in her Sudsy tee at her local shopping centre! She used it to start conversations about the challenge and raise awareness for the 1 in 200 Australians experiencing homelessness. Love your work Kathryn! #chooseyourconvo

22.01.2022 Here we goooo - weekend two of The Sudsy Challenge starts today! Good luck to all of you keeping your kit on over the next three days - we'd love to see photos of where you're choosing your conversations. 22.01.2022 Thanks to the 104 Sudsy Challengers from QBE Insurance Australia who helped to raise more than $50,000 for our friends doing it tough! #chooseyourconvo

19.01.2022 Big thanks to St Andrews Lutheran College for going above and beyond to raise funds for The Sudsy Challenge! They held a Sudsy day at the school and ended up smashing their $1,200 goal by a few thousand dollars! Congrats on raising $4,392 to support our friends doing it tough. #keepyourkiton

19.01.2022 Make sure you tune in to Orange Sky Australia's Facebook page to see Nic and Lucas chatting with some Sudsy Challengers from weekend one! #chooseyourconvo

19.01.2022 Big to the 2020 Sudheads team, who raised $2,246 for The Sudsy Challenge! Paul - who is the highest fundraiser on the team - shared a bit of a reflection after keeping his kit on (and not showering!) for three days. "Took a couple of days to reflect after this moment as the 30 minutes of showering and thinking hit me. How grateful I am to be in a position of comfort with basic needs met. Not only that but to be part of an extended network of people who helped our The Suds...y Challenge team raise over $2,000. For a random bunch of people that aren't a work group, a sports team or in anyway affiliated with big donation sponsors that is huge! And it's because of people like you who liked, commented, shared, read the link or donated that we are able to shed some light during this less than ideal time for all. Keep on loving and supporting each other " See more

18.01.2022 "Tonight, 1 in 200 Australians are experiencing homelessness and the debilitating impacts of being disconnected from friends, family and community. Having a conversation is a simple act - but there's nothing more important than feeling connected, and knowing there's someone out there who cares. That's why in a couple of weekends' time I'll be keeping my kit on for 3 days for the 2020 Sudsy Challenge, in an effort to raise a bit of awareness of what that experience is like for... our mates on the street, and raise some $$ for Orange Sky Australia. The work they do changes lives, and without the support of the community the clean laundry, the hot showers and great yarns just wouldn't happen. I'd love if you could support me on the way, and more importantly, consider the conversations you could be having with mates, family or colleagues about homelessness. Check out my Sudsy Challenge page here: https://www.thesudsychallenge.com/fundraiser/oliverwightman As always, whether we know each other or not, I'd love to have a chat with you - please reach out and let's talk about homelessness in Australia!" - Oliver, Orange Sky Volunteer.

18.01.2022 The Fuel Sydney team is keeping their kit on for The Sudsy Challenge! They are one of our top fundraising teams and we're super lucky to have their support. Learn more about why they decided to sign up for the challenge and what they're getting up to for the next few days...

17.01.2022 Melbourne volunteer, Steve is taking on The Sudsy Challenge this weekend and shared this video. Being in Melbourne during stage 4 restrictions, we think its pretty incredible that Steve is not only getting out on shift at the moment, but still finding other ways to support our friends

15.01.2022 "I was homeless for years and I will be keeping my kit on to help others that are still experiencing this. I know first hand that a shower and clean clothes gives you back some dignity, and an ear to speak to when u feel like there is nobody can be a literal life saver. I spent many years living out of my car or a tent, getting moved on by authorities, and it wasn't easy. Sometimes I wanted to give up but I didn't and I had a lot of people help me to get out of the situation... I was in, and now that's what I want to do. I don't want anyone to feel alone or scared about their situation or feel like there is no help. Orange sky are amazing and although they weren't around when I needed help, I wish they were. Sneaking into shower blocks or bathing in a cold creek was not fun. Also washing clothes in creek water and wringing them out by hand to dry over a tree was so difficult and takes away a lot of dignity. What Orange sky do is truly a game changer and I'm happy to help." - Louise, Weekend One Sudsy Challenger #chooseyourconvo #thesudsychallenge #keepyourkiton

14.01.2022 Shout out to these three legends from QIC! Cat, Mark and Joe volunteered at Orange Sky HQ this week to help with one of our most important jobs - contacting all of you amazing Sudsy Challengers to wish you good luck for the challenge Weekend three kicks off tomorrow! #chooseyourconvo

13.01.2022 More than 150 volunteers have signed up for this year's Sudsy Challenge! We think it's pretty amazing considering how much they already give to support our friends out on shift. One thing we do know is that Orange Sky volunteers are the best conversation starters out there - and we're incredible grateful to have them on board the challenge!

13.01.2022 Check out one of our amazing Sudsy Challengers, Amanda who got a personalised face mask made for her by a local business, Stitched by Chris. Such a creative way to start conversations!

12.01.2022 Our final day of The Sudsy Challenge! We would love to see all your photos and hear some of your reflections. Just like little Jolie who is doing The Sudsy Challenge this weekend in her dress, so she thought it was a good idea to get Tim to wear her shirt!

11.01.2022 Day three of The Sudsy Challenge for all of you keeping your kit on this weekend! We hope you've had some great chats with people in your community and make the most of your final day in your Sudsy outfit. #chooseyourconvo

10.01.2022 Lauren from the Queensland Symphony Orchestra (and Orange Sky volunteer) is taking on The Sudsy Challenge this weekend! She has already hit her fundraising target of $1,000, which will support our friends with more than 40 loads of washing. We love this reflection she wrote about what it means to be part of Orange Sky: "I have been a 'vollie' with Orange Sky for about 2 years now and they are an incredible organisation. The way they recalibrated at the beginning of the pandemic and sprung into action to provide services for our friends on the street was inspiring. I love my shifts and all the friends. I also love that I get to support an organisation started in Brisbane and I get to witness the good it does in my local community." You can check out Lauren's profile here: https://bit.ly/3joq7hz

09.01.2022 Orange Sky volunteer and 2020 Sudsy Challenger, Mary-Anne (pictured) shared this reflection about a friend who regularly visits her shift on the Sunshine Coast. It's stories like this one that remind us of the power of connection and how important it is that we continue supporting our friends doing it tough. #chooseyourconvo.

08.01.2022 Big shout out to Australian writer, Benjamin Law for joining The Sudsy Challenge! We've stayed in contact with Ben since he was part of the 2018 SBS Australia series, Filthy Rich & Homeless. It's not even been 24 hours since he signed up and he's already raised more than $1,400 for our friends doing it tough. You can support Ben here: https://bit.ly/2ZASG3A

07.01.2022 Amazing to see Orange Sky Board member, Paula Holden taking on The Sudsy Challenge this weekend! We love how passionate she is about supporting our friends and starting conversations. She is not far off her fundraising goal if you'd like to support her: https://bit.ly/3iiVAkI

04.01.2022 As you know a few months ago, we kicked off The Sudsy Challenge for it's second year. We asked you to wear the same clothes for three days, while also raising funds and awareness to support the 116,000 people experiencing homelessness. There were 1,357 people who took part and raised a whopping $334,000 for our friends doing it tough! A HUGE thank you to everyone who supported The Sudsy Challenge in 2020, check out the huge impact you helped to create...

04.01.2022 Day three of the challenge for all your weekend two-ers, you're nearly there! Here's some inspiration to keep you going from some of our youngest supporters... Samford State School student, Max found out that 1 in 6 young people experience homelessness and decided to get his whole class involved in the challenge. Together, the students of Class 6D have raised $2,700 to support our friends. They even had to increase their fundraising goal not once, but twice thanks to all the ...incredible support they received from their community. Keep up the amazing work!

04.01.2022 Federal Member for Brisbane, Trevor Evans MP took on The Sudsy Challenge this week! He said the bright orange shirt was a bit of a change to his usual attire, but it started some great conversations in his community. Check out his chat with Lucas below...

03.01.2022 Shout out to one of our littlest Sudsy Challengers, Charlie Shaw who not only smashed The Sudsy Challenge but also facilitated some #classroomconversations around the topic of homelessness with her fellow year 6 classmates. "I am investigating the issue of homelessness, especially homeless kids in Australia. This topic is important to me and I want to try to make a difference in the lives and numbers homeless kids there are in Australia. As part of my presentation, I am researching information about homelessness in Australia such as how big the problem is and ways that we can help." - Charlie Good on your Charlie, keep up the great work!

03.01.2022 "My husband and I took on The Sudsy Challenge last weekend to raise funds and awareness for Orange Sky for a very personal reason. My cousin, Keith (pictured on the right), died in June of this year and he volunteered for Orange Sky in Dandenong, Victoria. So we created a team called 'In Keith's Honour'. Because we are in lockdown in Melbourne currently and we can't really leave our home for many reasons, we decided to up the ante and not only wear the same clothes for 3 day...s but also not shower and wear the clothes to bed too! My husband, Adrian, also decided to spend a night in our carport sleeping under boxes to get a true understanding of homelessness. We were able to have conversations about what we were doing and why with family, friends, via our social media posts, and with our church community. We raised an amazing $2,732 - we are humbled and grateful!" - Janine. We're so grateful to Janine and Adrian for taking part in The Sudsy Challenge to not only raise funds and awareness for Orange Sky, but to continue the work of Keith in supporting our friends through connection and genuine conversation. You can check out their incredible fundraising efforts here: https://bit.ly/3kYX2JV

02.01.2022 We wanted to highlight one our our weekend one Sudsy Challengers, Ari, who has raised enough to fund clean clothes and warm showers for 16 people doing it tough! Ari set her friends a challenge, where her highest donor was able to choose her outfit for the weekend. Caiti took out the top spot and this is what she came back with: "I'd love for YOU to choose what you'd like to wear. Either a) what you'd grab if you were about to lose everything, b) something that you know will ...enable a conversation about The Sudsy Challenge to take place, c) something that makes you happy, or d) all of the above. My reasoning is that I know that if you were to find yourself in the position of needing a little hand up, I know that you would bring a little bit of happiness to everyone around you either from what you are wearing, what you say or what you do. I know you'd be the sort of person who would give up her space in line, or find a way to make someone a jumper, or make someone smile. I want your challenge to reflect you and all the joy you bring to our world." Shout out to Ari and her amazing friends (like Caiti) for supporting The Sudsy Challenge! #chooseyourconvo

02.01.2022 We just hit $250,000! Thanks to all of the Sudsy Challengers for signing up to support the 1 in 200 people experiencing homelessness around Australia. Keep up the awesome work team!

02.01.2022 Indi and her human, Mitzi took on The Sudsy Challenge over the weekend in Melbourne. Mitzi is not only one of Orange Sky's amazing volunteers, but she's one of our top fundraisers for the challenge with more than $3,700 in the bank to support our friends. "The three days went well despite being in lockdown here in Melbourne. I managed to get out as much as was possible and had to look for good opportunities to engage awareness of the challenge and Orange Sky. I had some great conversations with the staff at South Corner Cafe in Werribee about Orange Sky and homelessness in our area, I went on shift and shared the challenge experience with co-vollie Jonathan, and I visited my Mother - another passionate supporter of Orange Sky who donates on a monthly basis.

02.01.2022 Nic and Lucas are getting ready to take on The Sudsy Challenge next weekend from October 2-4. They've recruited a few team mates and we've got some fun activities planned for them over the three days! One of those things is a Zoom call with some of our top fundraisers, who will have the chance to win a new washing machine or dryer valued at $1,000 thanks to The Good Guys. If you are one of our top 5 teams, top 10 volunteers or top 10 overall fundraisers by midnight on Wednes...day 30 September, you will go in the running for the prize. The only catch is that you'll need to be on the Zoom call with Nic and Lucas to win. Keep an eye on your inbox for more details soon! #keepyourkiton

01.01.2022 Not all heroes wear capes, but they do wear orange! Graeme (pictured, left) and the team from Cross River Rail are supporting The Sudsy Challenge this year. There are two teams keeping their kits on over weekends one and two - and we've heard there's a bit friendly competition over who can raise the most! You can check out their team pages here:... Weekend one team: https://bit.ly/3hg3iLm Weekend two team: https://bit.ly/2R70wNL

01.01.2022 This Sudsy Challenge, we are encouraging you to #chooseyourconvo. Thanks to Julie for having lots of conversations in support of our friends doing it tough, as well for sharing your reflection on the challenge.
