25.01.2022 We are currently looking for very motivated people to do apple thinning on a local orchard. You must be able to start immediately and be able to make a commitment of 3 months. You must be comfortable working at heights on a ladder and be very physically fit to climb up and down a ladder numerous times a day. 11.01.2022 Come join our Voluntary Help Exchange programme!!...We are currently looking for people who would be interested in doing voluntary work in our hostel in exchange for free rent while you are looking for farm work. You would be involved in moving furniture; painting; gardening; cleaning and general duties to assist us in making the hostel a fun, clean and comfortable place to stay. It is always easier to get farm work while you are actually staying in our hostel as we have Farmers call at a moments notice who are looking for committed, hard working people and who are available on that day. 08.01.2022 We are currently looking for 2 people to do stringing on an apple farm. Stringing work is when you tie the branches of the apple tree at the optimal angle. The string is anchored to the ground and acts like a "tent rope" to keep the branch at the correct placement, setting it up for fruit to grow on. There is an enormous amount of bending down and squatting in this role, hitting in pegs and tying off the string and the job is extremely repetitive. This will suit only people w...ho are very fit, motivated and willing to work hard. Must be able to make a commitment of a month or more, farmer does keep good quality workers on for other jobs on farm. This farm has a great reputation and always pays right and on time.
