20.01.2022 Interesting article in the Entrepreneur magazine ... metaphors for lessons in surfing and business. Sometimes when I am dealing with something in the surf, I wonder how this is playing out in my business ... is that normal or am I just a bit nutty?? Like when I am getting impatient for a wave - or that feeling that I need to hurry up and get my fill before I have to go in and "start" my day ... then I realise that I am not enjoying the moment ... enjoying just being in the wa...ter - enjoying the process ... that I have lost sight of being calm and grateful for being able to be in the water. Grateful of being brought up around surfing ... giving me the release when I know I need it... having health that gives me the ability to be out there ... then I enjoy the moment again. Drawing the parallels to my business I know I often get caught up on the next thing or busy planning the next part ... instead of enjoying where I am at - enjoying the process of the event I am running, or to stop and appreciate what I have already created. And being brought up with the belief that I can create my life the way I choose! For what is going on in one area of your life is reflected in many other areas.

16.01.2022 An amazing experience going to the local Kinder and donating some of the books that were donated before we left - the clothing is on its way to Suva - the distribution capitol for the aftermath of Winston. We were so overwhelmed with donations - and are also happy to announce that there is a container going over with the remainder of the donations we couldnt take over this time. Thank you all so much - the Fijians are so thankful. After checking the kinder - it was also sooo hot - that together with a couple of the guests - we have bought 2 fans to help cool the kids while they play and learn ... I was also proud of my son - who before we left sorted out the extra cars he wanted to give away to the children - and was more than happy - and actually loved giving them away ... so beautiful to see at 3 1/2 ... the gift of sharing ...

Look it up - buy one and one will be given to a child in indonesia instead of using those tiny plastic water cups, single use ... Every bit counts

11.01.2022 SPARE CLOTHES / school stuff- back packs, pens, bookd, pens etc FOR THOSE IN FIJI??? The Surfers Business is heading over to Fiji on Monday and Tuesday next week - 14th and 15th April - and wanting to help out as much as possible after the cyclone - We will be contacting Fiji Airlines to increase our luggage allowance. If anyone has spare clothes, childrens clothes, books or small toys they would like to donate - we will take it over ... Drop off either Torquay or the Goldcoast - please message us for details. We will be visiting a local kindergarten too. Thanks for your help xxx

09.01.2022 Something to think about- especially as the April challenge is to not use one takeaway cup or plastic water bottle... Think about what happens after the one use- even at our local japanese place today- they automaticallt put in plastic- even for those eating in! Crazy ... We need to start to voice our opinion and start thinking before accepting any single use plastics ..
