Forty dollars for one reusable water bottle? $60 for a stainless steal lunchbox? That sounded like so much! But quickly, I discovered how fast reusables paid for themselves.... I started to view purchasing reusable items as an investment and, man, did that pay off in no time at all. I was saving more money than ever before and thats a big win when youre a student! But did you also know growing your own veggies is not only better for you but its also better for the environment? Saves food miles - If you buy from a supermarket, theres a good chance theyve travelled hundreds of thousands of kms to get to you. These food miles mean that by the time your food reaches your plate, a lot of pollution has been created through transport fuels. If you grow your own, you can prevent unnecessary energy/pollution and reduce greenhouse gases. So heres a few tips on how to start growing your own for beginners! 1. Always line the bottom of your vegetable patch with recycled cardboard boxes. This will stop the unwanted weeds and grass from stealing all the nutrients and taking over your garden. 2.
