04.06.2022 Hi everyone, Covid has taken off in our area with many kids infected. Many of these kids attend swimming with me or go to a school that is closed because of a high number of cases so the risk of spread is high. *As a precaution I have decided to stop swimming for the year effective immediately. Once again, it’s a hard decision to make but one that I feel is the right one and the right thing to do at this point in time.... **If you HAVE already paid for the term, thank you. I will place a credit on your account for the remaining lessons that will go towards next terms fees unless you aren’t coming back and would like a refund. ***If you HAVEN’T already paid, please let me know if you are happy to pay the full amount now and have a credit placed on your account or if you would like me to adjust your invoice and resend. The last two years have been tough so prompt payment of any invoices would be much appreciated going into the school holidays ****If there are any outstanding invoices I will resend them through once I have heard back from you. *****If you have a child who tests positive in the next few days and it is relevant to let me know, please do. ******As for next year, if you could please text me your preferences for days and time for 2022 and I will be in touch when I put the program together which is usually early January. *******If you have a child who will be 3 by Feb or early Feb pls let me know as they will need to be moved to the weekday morning program (no parent in the water). ******** I have Xmas cards and photos to send out so I will do that in the next few days unless I receive a positive result myself in which case you may receive them in the new year I think that is everything for now. 25.01.2022 Hooray! After more than 7 months of no lessons, it looks like we can get back to swimming soon. From Monday the 9th of November indoor facilities are permitted to resume operations with some restrictions in place. ... I am SO excited for us to get back to it and I am already planning our return and how it will look. I will be in touch over the next week with more details (including the exact date of our return). 25.01.2022 Hi everyone, Under the easing of restrictions effective Friday 11th of June, indoor swimming lessons are NOT permitted to resume just yet. I am currently in the process of assessing how this will work for us at both North St LTS and at The Swim Group Fawkner. ... 18.01.2022 Hi everyone, I hope that you are all well and dealing well with lockdown 4.0. I just wanted to remind everyone that I have been invoicing monthly from the start of the year. Each invoice you receive will have the month that it is for, stated on the invoice.... I believe some people are missing some invoices, so I ask that you please check your inboxes and ensure that all payments have been made to date. If you require your invoices resent, please let me know. I will be in touch early next week to follow up those people whose payments are outstanding. 16.01.2022 Just an update on the programming process... Offers have gone out for all those who were enrolled in term 4 of last year. Today offers will start to go out for those enrolled pre covid who did not return in term 4.... New people will be placed after that, probably Friday/Saturday. Thanks for your patience! Tash

13.01.2022 Happy New Year everyone, Enquiries have started trickle through so I thought I might let you all know when to expect to hear from me. I will start to put the 2021 program together from Friday the 8th January. I usually like to have it started earlier in the week, but other personal commitments and obligations prevent me from being able to give it the time before then.... In planning the program this is my usual approach: 1. All existing kids are placed first according to availability and skill level. If you haven't already provided me with your 2021 availability please SMS this information ASAP. 2. Any siblings are then placed next. If you are wanting to enrol a sibling and haven't already let me know via SMS, please do so ASAP. I need this information in writing please. 3. New people are then offered places in the order of date of enquiry. If you are a new enrolment I will be in contact sometime late in the third week of January. 4. Once I have placed the children into classes you will receive an SMS from me with the day and time of the class. Please reply within 48 hours letting me know if that day and time will work for you. I always try my best to accomodate people's preferences but please know that I can't always achieve that for everyone in the first go. There is quite a bit of movement in the program until it is finalised and usually, eventually, we are able to get you what you want with some time. I'll be in touch soon. Tash

12.01.2022 Hi everyone, LONG POST BUT IMPORTANT, please read Just wanted to reach out and let everyone know what the current plans are for returning to lessons given some of the easing of restrictions around swimming pools and swimming.... At this stage, my understanding is that swimming lessons in indoor pools are NOT cleared for return just yet. The current lifting of restrictions seem to be centred around lap swimming and the use of public pools and also perhaps some non contact squad training. As you would all be aware, there are still many rules around how even these things may happen safely. While I am keen to get back into it, safety will always be my first consideration. Dry land safety measures aside, those of you who have observed lessons will know that there is much coughing and spluttering (snot and the rest...) that goes on whilst kids are learning breath control. It’s always been an occupational hazard but never such a big deal as it is now. Also, given the amount of support young children need in the water, social distancing is near impossible. So for these reasons, lessons will not be going ahead just yet. I would like to be able to give a start date but as you are aware the situation is ever evolving and more so particularly now as restrictions are eased and we are yet to see how that plays out. It would be nice to think that we might be able to come back sometime in term 3. Before we do, I will be in contact with all current clients to survey whether they will be returning and also to gauge what their major concerns will be going forward in order to be able to plan appropriately. 09.01.2022 Good morning everyone, As per last nights reintroduced measures, masks are now mandatory in all indoor settings until further notice. Please make sure that you remember to bring your mask to swimming and wear it correctly over your mouth and nose for the full duration of your time at the facility.... Please resist the urge to pull down your mask when talking to others. If you forget your mask you will need to remain outside for the duration of the lesson. Remember to check in every time using the QR code at the door and sanitise upon entry. Tash

08.01.2022 Hi everyone, Just an update on swimming lessons at The Swim Group Fawkner at Moomba Park Primary School. At this stage, the Department of Education has not given the go ahead for lessons to resume at school pools so there are no lessons planned for the immediate future at The Swim Group Fawkner.... I am currently working on how to accomodate some of these existing swimmers at my North St facility. For those of you waiting, thank you for your patience. I am aiming for a staggered approach between the mornings and the afternoons in order to have time to ensure that all our processes are correct. It’s tricky putting a new program together in a short amount of time and with only a short time to go, so again, thank you for being patient and waiting for me to put it all together. I sincerely hope that by the time term 1 2021 rolls around we will be able to get back to swimming in almost, if not in, the usual way. For those of you waiting for the term 1 program, I will be in touch over January to make these arrangements. I am hoping to finalise any after school swimming for the remainder of this term at North st by the end of this week, for a start next week. I’ll keep you posted. Tash

06.01.2022 Took a swim today out to Rye Pier and back... it was 15 degrees in the water... a chilly start but warmed up after about 500m.... a little bit nuts to do but invigorating, especially after 8 weeks of ISO!

02.01.2022 Hi everyone, After a busy week with uni assessments and exams, I can finally turn my attention to putting the term 1 program together over the next week or so. For those waiting to hear from me, thank you for your patience. Working on the premise that we will have Covid normal access to the facility, I invite those of you wishing to re enrol to let me know what your day and time preferences are (via SMS ONLY) to 0425 713 825. ... Lessons have usually been offered Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons but if Friday’s suit you, let me know and I’ll see what we can do. Saturday mornings are also an option. Please note that those enrolled last term will be placed first, followed by those enrolled prior to the Covid shutdown in March and then new enrolments. This process takes some time as I wait for all the information to trickle through. Again, pls bear with me while I work through it all. I’ll be in touch with everyone individually, soon. Tash

01.01.2022 A very heartfelt thank you to all my parents over the last week and a half for being so diligent and following our covid safe plan for swimming lessons. Recent events in SA show us how quickly things can escalate so I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate everyone wearing their masks correctly whilst at lessons, checking in using the QR code and for following all the new procedures. I am grateful to be back at work and I appreciate your collective efforts to keep... me safe and operating. Thank you

01.01.2022 Hi everyone, It’s time to get the ball rolling and get swimming lessons back up and running. Here’s the plan so far all things going well.... North St Learn to Swim - Weekday morning lessons will resume Tuesday 4th August. Sunday morning parent and child classes will resume in Term 4 on Sunday the 11th of October. The Swim Group Fawkner Weekday afternoon lessons and Saturday morning classes will resume at some point during term 3 at a date yet to be determined as I am yet to receive clearance from Moomba Park Primary School to use the facility. I expect to know more after the first week of Term 3 and will keep you all informed. Thank you to you all for your patience through this time. I will be in direct contact with each family over the next few weeks to see who is planning to come back. For anyone who is not currently a client of either of these swim schools, please note that all current clients will be placed first and then any new people will be welcomed into any available spots. Rest assured that there will be a Covid Safe plan in place and all necessary and required measures will be put in place to make lessons as safe as possible for everyone.
