19.01.2022 FINAL DAYS We are thrilled to be exhibiting works by Brian Eno at Window Moncur, 83 Moncur Street, Woollahra, Sydney. This collaborative presentation between Filter Fine Art, David Stein & Co and Living Edge runs until 20th September 2020 and is viewable daily from the street (lights go out at 10.30pm).... Brian Eno is an English musician, composer, record producer and visual artist. He was a founding member of 70s rock band Roxy Music, a principal innovator of ‘ambient music’ and a pioneer of ‘generative music’. He has collaborated with numerous artists over the last five decades including John Cale, David Bowie, Talking Heads, Laurie Anderson, U2 and Coldplay. He is co-creator of the Long Now Foundation, which was established in 01996 to foster very long-term thinking and responsibility within a framework of the next 10,000 years. As a visual artist, Eno has exhibited his work far and wide, from Tokyo to Cape Town, Rio de Janeiro to New York, London to Sydney. His work is dedicated to the possibilities that light, colour, space, sound and time provide. He made his first light installation in the 60s whilst at art school, where he become interested in randomness and the notion that complexity could grow out of simplicity. These themes became important touchstones on his subsequent journey through modern electronic technology, in both visual art and music. The four large etchings in Window Moncur hint at a shifting colourscape within a consistent form. They relate closely to the slowly mutating colour fields present in Eno’s lightbox works. In 2009, Eno was commissioned by Events NSW to curate the inaugural VIVID festival in Sydney. He was the first artist to project an artwork onto the sails of the Sydney Opera House. #contemporaryart #internationalart #sydneyartgallery #brianeno #woollahra #brionvega #livingedge #davidsteinart #windowmoncur
