23.01.2022 There are two aspects of money that I care deeply about: The touch points. ie where has it come from and where is it going?; ROI.... This is why The Talent Connective is picky with the clients we onboard. Some industries have a terrible carbon and/or human footprint. Respectfully, those ones are not for us. Its also why we partner with The Hunger Project Australia. Data shows our money is 12x more likely to impact & empower those in need than most charities, and isnt sucked into admin costs. In 2019, a whopping 83% of money we invested in helping our international partners went to... ... international partners. Clean money, put to use doing good work. Boom Does it get any better?! An enormous thank you to everyone that hired and was hired through @the_talentconnective Your partnership is doing good things Pic by the talented Prue Aja - Photographer

Or perhaps you went straight into digital strategy, gifted to always have been in a role where managing relationships end to end was your talent, in that beautiful world where marketing outcomes meet technology. 20.01.2022 If youre facing redundancy, heres what Id say right now if we were face to face: Its going to be ok. Absolutely keep an eye for roles, there are companies still hiring, but go easy on yourself. Theres every chance this could take a little longer, you will still be ok. Freelance/Contract whilst youre waiting. You can set up as a sole trader very cost effectively, and this keeps you in the market/zone of creativity whilst youre job hunting. Plenty of businesses wil...l be revisiting their strategy right now. Its a great time to offer to help. Give. And this can be work related or not. But the process of giving helps to affirm that were contributing, and maintains self worth. When I started TTC I offered my services for free to Thank You, as I was so inspired by their story. They didnt end up needing me at that point, but the offer put me in an abundant mindset. This time around I expect to be home (and homeschooling) more, and possibly doing shorter hours (who knows, could go either way) Ive re-registered us as foster carers to help during #COVID, as time and a safe house are two resources I can give in the mid term. My point though, is that you can give in any way, not just the way you usually do. We have the time, right? See point one. Its going to be OK See more

18.01.2022 Honey Im home! Wowza what a *pause*. Im going to level with you, I took very little convincing to hang out with my little one when #iso got real. Since he entered our lives, Ive never taken longer than four (yep 4, dont judge me) consecutive weeks off work. And whilst our *normal* lives have a lot of freedom & flexibility anyway, the chance to squeeze in uninterrupted giggles & cuddles was too lovely to ignore. ... We also welcomed another little person into our lives Surprise!! BUT, I also had a little song & dance when school went back So here I am, getting reacquainted with my third (and no less lovely) baby - this business. And its so nice to be back/home. Because whilst our little ones are such a Divine legacy, so is the way we show up, contribute, and create. Your patience & Grace through my delayed replies has been a dream. Thank you, I love you, and Im so thrilled to get back to the business of serving you in your careers x by Prue Aja - Photographer

12.01.2022 Via @damon.gameau With Italy in lockdown and less motorboat traffic, the canals of Venice have cleared up as less sediment and pollution is in the water. More fish and seaweed are visible and swans and dolphins have also been sited. Nature giving us a glimpse of a cleaner, low carbon world. Reuters

10.01.2022 Heres 1 thing I learned from philanthropy that might apply now: Scarcity can be hoodwinked. The fastest way to elude it is to give, and the good news for those of tightening budgets, is that it need not even be cash that you pass on (although that helps). Give time, give a meal, give ideas... Scarcity cant tell the difference, and sharing what you is the fastest way to teach yourself you have something to give. And abundance generates abundance.

10.01.2022 Im here writing Thank You & Congratulations cards and about to spontaneously show up unannounced with goodies to say Thank you, you bloody legends for my clients upon placing their new team mates. I used to feel a weird sense of failure at doing this part of the job. Like, should a **ahem** real CEO have time to pop to the post office or pick out individualised gifts?!? Probably not, but can I just say, f*ck it. ... Saying thank you, properly, thoughtfully and spontaneously is my absolute favourite part of the job. And whod give that up Theres also a direct correlation between how meaningful you find your work to be and your interaction with the end users your work impacts

09.01.2022 Doing a little happy dance for a candidate about to commence in her dream role Some of our favourite flavours in this brief include flexible hours, senior position, awesome leadership team & meaty deliverables We dont share every win on the gram, but it feels important to share this one because its a great example that even in an evolving market, great things can still come to you easily. Lots of people outstay their desired tenure in a role because they crave/need stab...ility & certainty. If this is you, this is your gentle reminder that with a bit of magic, you get to have your cake & eat it too x #youvegotthis #newcareer #newjobnewyou #meaningfulcareers See more

09.01.2022 Can I share with you something I know for sure about abundance? For it to keep showing up, we need to acknowledge its existence When we have moments of scarcity or a feeling of lack, we need to acknowledge that if theres a spot in our lives were not feeling abundance, abundance is showing up for us in another area.... You cannot kill abundance. It merely transforms. Where are the pockets of your life abundance is showing up for you? Acknowledge them in earnest, and those moments gain permission to show up more frequently Love & light, Em x

08.01.2022 A great article from Forbes crossed my desk today, written at the back end of last year in preparation for a business slowdown, highlighting great case studies over the last 100 years of company advertising data during recessions (not that were in one, dont mind the R word x). Some of my faves include McDonalds deciding to reduce marketing ad spend in the 1990-1991 recession, and both Pizza Hut and Taco Bell took the opportunity to ramp up. McDonalds lost 28% market share, Pizza Hut had a 61% increase in sales and Taco Bell got a 40% jump in sales. It was also during a recession that Kelloggs ramped up ad spend, and maintained majority market share for multiple decades. Fight hard to keep your marketing budgets my loves, as counter intuitive as it currently seems x

03.01.2022 If youre in between gigs or looking to supplement your income with extra clients, this ones for you . Up on the blog, sites to get across to start sourcing remote full time or freelance/project based roles. I would always recommend freelancing whilst you job hunt so that you:... - make some money whilst youre looking for work - keep in market. Not to be overlooked, theres a psychological gain to be had from being in work whilst youre looking. This gives you negotiating power. - Were moving towards a gig economy. Get ahead of the curve. Plenty more sites out there once you start looking, but heres a few to kick off the search See more

02.01.2022 Hang in there my loves, youve got this My thoughts on Job, Security, & Learnings from the Field with The Hunger Project Australia

02.01.2022 Dear Daily Telegraph , Its time to take a rigorous look at journalistic integrity, if you have any left. Have a read over your publication. Tell me, are you creating space for the natural evolution of a global human rights movement, or making a flailing attempt to control the narrative and appeal to the bias of white Australia? This blatantly racist paragraph fails to create space for a discussion on equality. We can send 10,000 people to the football, but cannot send 10,...000 people to march against deaths in custody? It fails to question how weve let the oppression of our First Nations people become so dire, that they must choose between the fear for their health in a pandemic, or their right to live without being murdered. Can I suggest that as you see your print media counterparts from glossy magazines around the world called to account, apologising, resigning or being let go, that you take a moment to self reflect. In the fight to stay relevant, perhaps you could reassess what quality journalism looks like. You could even take it a step further and hold those responsible for this rubbish to account. See more
