19.01.2022 It's amazing what happens when the Government puts it head down and just gets on with getting the Job done 5 New Tax Measures from the Budget have been passed through parliament. 1. Income Tax Cuts... The passage will mean the stage 2 personal income tax cuts will now be brought forward and backdated to 1 July this year. Your pay will adjust once this all finalises and any over held amounts will come back to you at the end of the year 2. Instant Asset Write Off If you earn under $5Billion Dollars per annum, any piece of eligible equipment you buy is immediately deductible in 2021 (This does not relate to Motor Vehicles there is still a Limit of $59,136 applying for most cars) 3. Loss Carry Back If you trade as a company any losses incurred in 2020, 2021 or 2022 can be used to offset an income profit derived in 2019 or future year until 2022. This one can be rather technical, we will go over this with you with tax planning 4. Small business concessions expansion This relates to certain Fringe Benefit items, Simplified accounting for GST and trading stock and some other benefits which we will break down in our emails 5. R&D Tax Incentive For companies with a turnover of less than $20 million, there will be no cap on the amount of refundable R&D tax offset a company can claim. Remember this still needs to be voted on and signed off on until it becomes law, we will keep you updated with information and advise what is legislated and what is proposed. There is hopefully something in here for everyone, we just have to wait for legislation then we can plan with real time data...
