Sunlight exposure remains as the major source of vitamin D synthesis with several bodily functions that metabolise the form of vitamin D absorbed by the skin into a usable form for the body. This means that seasonal variations, sunscreen and clothing are major influences into our levels of vitamin D.... As of July 2020, Australian statistics have revealed that 1 in 4 Australian adults are vitamin D deficient. Seasonal variation is a large issue within Australian climate which we are clearly heading into now. Even with supplementation through winter results showed that serum levels still remained significantly lower indicating the importance of sun exposure and its seasonal impact.
