24.01.2022 ‘Laughing Kookaburra on flowering Iornbark’ After the recent devastating bushfires earlier this year, it felt as if there was an eerie quiet after the rains helped control the fires. A quiet broken by some kookaburras sitting in some ironbark having a great cackle marking the dusk on unprecedented devastation. It was too memorable not to recreate. ......................................... This work to be shown in October at Antler gallery. Stay tuned for more works and updates. See more

13.01.2022 ‘Fishers Garden’ A new artwork in Glebe for the lovely Ruby and Michael. It was a pleasure to create this artwork for them and after mentioning my recent uncounted with a Sacred Kingfisher on my roof and how they can be a symbol of prosperity and fertility we decided that this would make the perfect focal point for this artwork. Pared with the kingfisher is a Green and Gold Bell frog, another Sydney native species that would sometimes become prey for the kingfisher but has become camouflaged within some grevillea flowers.

(Just stop chasing off the others) See more

11.01.2022 ‘Narriearra Station’, Artwork recently completed for a new series of works to be shown at Antler later this year. Water color and Gouache on Archers. Featuring a Grey Grasswren on old man Salt Bush. ................................................. This artwork was inspired by the NSW national parks purchase of land titles for NSW, Narriearra Station. 153,415 h home to 25 threatened species including the Grey grasswren (featured). Narriearra station is estimated at 90% of the Grey grasswren’s remaining habitat. One of the shrub/bushes the grasswren likes to shelter is salt bush, an Australian bush food.

11.01.2022 Another recent commission. A mating pair of Gang Gang Cockatoos. I love gang gang cockatoos, they are like the most punk looking (and sounding) of all the cockatoos. These two perched on some silky oak. Thanks Jondi for commissioning this work.

11.01.2022 A recent courtyard commission in Glebe. Red Wattle Bird, fairy wren and the endangered Blue Mountains Tree Frog. It was a little difficult to document this artwork as it moved through the courtyard visible from a different points throughout the house, but that’s what made it super fun to paint. Thanks to Kate, Andrew and Bennet for the commission.

10.01.2022 My new series of work ‘fire and Thrive’ opens on the 28th of October at Antler Within this new series of work I have drawn influence from the unprecedented fires we had in Australia at the start of this year and their destructive and creative power. Australia has a long history of fires and many of the plants and animals that are unique to Australia utilize these trying times for propitiation, regeneration and habitation. Although, the fires we had in January where so large..., can the bush recover? .............................................. For more info or to see a full catalogue, please email [email protected] or go to their page Antler

10.01.2022 With fewer than 400 individuals remaining in the wild before the bushfires, only time will tell just how badly this critically endangered species has been affected in recent weeks.

09.01.2022 ‘Guula Ngurra’ Means ‘Koala Country’ to the Gundangara traditional owners and is the name of a new NSW national park in the hopes of protecting koala habitats. During the devastating bushfires earlier this year it was near impossible not to see heart breaking Images of koalas with burns and singed fur, so protected new habitats are a welcome site. Within this artwork I wish to also show a different threat.. The Australian bush is very resilient and is used to regeneration after fires. Although the animals that feed of the bush (such as koalas) are now facing a new threat, starvation as they struggle to find enough food while the bush regenerates.
