25.01.2022 Reported in The Age today: apparently one of the main reasons the Andrews government refused ADF help for the hotel quarantine was because the unions did not want it. Report: https://www.theage.com.au//not-happy-dan-victoria-s-premie
24.01.2022 Boy oh boy this story is massive. Popcorn time Huge work done by The Age and 60 Minutes exposing industrial scale corruption and branch stacking in the Victorian Labor Party. Some very disturbing racist and homophobic slurs here too. Some highlights: This is going to be relentless; we're just going to go f**k them. We're just going to go to town. This is f**king war. We've got f**king massive numbers, we've got about 30 going in every week...... "Stacking Anglos, it’s not going to work. Anglos just f--- off after a while...We can put 1000 [Indians] in, they’re all fully f---ing resourced. We are going to have so much f**king fun with these people. I'm going to take Cranbourne branch off them. We're gonna bring all our Young Labor people that we've just got... real little f**king slimy little f**kers, right... little passive aggressive f**king gay kids... This is from the government that sells itself as the most progressive government in Australia. Good grief! The Age: ‘Safe seats in State Parliament are offered as rewards to ethnic community leaders in return for them placing members into branches that will help Somyurek control federal seats and federal MPs.’ There is a rotten underbelly to the Andrews government. Yet this story goes beyond just Victoria. It has ramifications for federal Labor as well.
24.01.2022 Brutal analysis here. He won’t get his time again. Neither will the 801 people who died, nor 18,000 more who got coronavirus after it escaped Victoria’s quarantine hotels because of the stark failings of Andrews and his government that this report lays bare. Wonder if any of Andrews’ adoring fans will read about the key findings of the Coate report? One suspects no. Not unless it is written with double spacing and full of repetitive platitudes that they fall for so easily.
24.01.2022 For right of centre political thinkers, the debate about Donald Trump’s Twitter ban raises contradictory dilemmas that need careful thinking to be reconciled. On the one hand, there is the free market argument that Twitter, as a private company, has every right to ban whoever it wants from its own platform. On the other hand, there is the concern over free speech, and the power of companies to censor political voices it does not like.
23.01.2022 Avi makes a fair point. Part of the problem is that many Victorians lost faith with the state government’s messaging after the protest was essentially given the green light to go ahead. Whether cases have been directly linked to it or not is beside the point. The point is that it undermined solidarity most Victorians had maintained up until that point. Still, it is important to emphasise that this does not excuse people flouting the rules now. Do the right thing.
23.01.2022 Seriously, if you ever needed more evidence that the Greens are merely just a sideshow distraction of dopey economic illiterates with no intention or capacity to ever be a party of government, then this cobbled together list of socialist fantasies written with crayons and stuck together with clag is all you need to read.
23.01.2022 The proposed news media bargaining code is controversial, but there is merit to the idea.
22.01.2022 Who does this actually help? If anything, it just makes a parody of anti-racism efforts since reasonable people will conclude that this is ridiculous and, as a consequence, further distance themselves from the BLM movement. The average punter abhors racism and will stand against it, but they will just as equally call this decision stupid, and rightly so. ... Coon Cheese is named after its creator: Edward William Coon. It has never been associated with race. But context does not matter anymore. Now, we project race based thinking onto everything, searching for bigotry where there is none. It is also incredibly cynical and disingenuous. Companies now make these decisions motivated by marketing and a desire to maximise profits. In an effort to avoid the ire of the mob, they posture and virtue-signal, pretending to care about social issues, so much so that they will spit in the face of their brand’s founder because his name is no longer considered acceptable, despite it being fine for 85 years.
21.01.2022 Dan Andrews: We are the most progressive government in Australia. Andrews government minister: "Stacking Anglos, it’s not going to work. Anglos just f--- off after a while...We can put 1000 [Indians] in, they’re all fully f---ing resourced.... We are going to have so much f**king fun with these people. I'm going to take Cranbourne branch off them. We're gonna bring all our Young Labor people that we've just got... real little f**king slimy little f**kers, right... little passive aggressive f**king gay kids... Heads must roll. Three ministers should not be making it to breakfast today before getting booted. The exploitation of migrant communities is particularly troubling. A disgrace.
21.01.2022 This story should be very concerning for anyone who values Australian sovereignty. Victorian China Consul-General Zhou Long essentially gatecrashed a Commonwealth press conference of a government minister. Neither Health Minister Greg Hunt or the Prime Minister’s office were informed. Zhou used the Australian government’s own platform to denounce Australia’s call for an independent inquiry into China’s handling of COVID-19. Instead, he praised China’s response to the virus. ...Whatever your view of China and their handling of the virus, this sort of wolf-warrior, megaphone diplomacy from China is completely inappropriate. It takes astonishing chutzpah to overtake a government press conference in a foreign country to denounce that same country on their own soil in front of their own people. That is what happened today. Australia should and must demand an independent inquiry into China’s response to COVID-19 and the Chinese Communist Party must be subject to international accountability and the rules based global order that it continues to so flagrantly undermine. Australians, stand behind your government. SMH report: https://www.smh.com.au//chinese-consul-general-crashes-hun
21.01.2022 Tony Abbott has done more for the Australian community as one individual than most will ever hope to achieve. And yet the leftists degrade his character with the same tired insults. That is how it works these days. An entire life’s work is dismissed if you dare deviate from the identitarian left and its obsession with race, sex and gender.
20.01.2022 1. Eliminate stamp duty and replace it with a land tax. 2. Permanent free childcare 3. Company tax cuts tied to environmental performance 4. Maintain the increase to Newstart
20.01.2022 Compare the pair. 1. The Guardian attacking federal PM Scott Morrison for taking a holiday during a state crisis. 2. The Guardian encouraging state premier Dan Andrews to take a holiday during a state crisis.
19.01.2022 Meanwhile, in states that are not Victoria. Well done to Steven Marshall and the South Australian Liberal Government. Zero active cases in the community. South Australia. Why would you want to go there? Dan Andrews, June, 2020.
19.01.2022 This is where the world is going. Jacques Kallis, arguably South Africa’s greatest cricketer, has been forced out of his role purely due to the colour of his skin. "I wasn't allowed to be involved with that South African side because Cricket South Africa said there would be no more white consultants.... 19.01.2022 Dan Dan the marketing man.
19.01.2022 If you want to see everything wrong with identity politics and race based thinking, read this so-called analysis by Anne Summers in The Age today. Not one mention of policy initiatives on the part of Biden/Harris, but an almost exclusive focus on the influence of race. This is what modern politics has come to. We seem incapable of dissecting policy so we now focus on the superficial. I would much appreciate detailed analysis on the policy positions of the Biden/Harris ticket..., but so far all we know is that she is black and a woman, and unfortunately, for many, that is enough. No, it’s not. If you can’t be bothered reading the article, read this little snippet below. The left were outraged over The Australian’s cartoon yesterday, but they don’t realise how much they obsess over race. And they are genuinely perplexed when it is called out. It is significant that Kamala Harris is described in official Democratic Party literature as Black and Asian American. No longer is it questioned whether she is black enough because her father’s African ancestry did not include the experience of slavery. Harris was included on the list of suitable candidates proposed by the African-American women and men who lobbied Biden to appoint a woman of colour. And she is now widely embraced by the African-American community, including three of the women who were passed over for her: Susan Rice, Karen Bass and Stacey Abrams. This paragraph is everything wrong with the politics of identity. Vetting candidates based on some crude form of racial criteria is dangerous and corrosive.
19.01.2022 In their rush to jump to Dan Andrews’ defence, I wonder if Labor supporters realise how much they suddenly sound like Liberal voters. It is about people taking personal responsibility for their actions, we are told. Government is limited in its ability to control human behaviour, they say.... It is up to individuals to do the right thing, they claim.
18.01.2022 Tim Smith doesn’t miss on the Andrews government. Savage.
18.01.2022 Andrews is out of control. This comes after yesterday’s story about the Andrews government sourcing trains from blacklisted Chinese companies. ‘Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews last year asked the Chinese government to set up a technology research and development centre in Melbourne, prompting warnings about intellectual property theft and the potential national security implications.’
17.01.2022 For all of the complaining about Murdoch, the left are awfully comfortable with the monopoly they hold in academia, in our schools, in the arts, in bureaucracy. But that is not enough. The anti-Murdoch media campaign is not about fairness or truth or journalist integrity. It is about censoring and silencing one of the few relatively powerful conservative voices left in this country.
17.01.2022 Sky News reporting that Scott Morrison tried to convince Dan Andrews to use ADF personnel for hotel quarantine but was ignored. ‘Prime Minister Scott Morrison pressured Daniel Andrews to accept 1000 Australian Defence Force troops to Victoria in July to help the state fight the deadly second wave of COVID-19, according to a series of letters released through Freedom of Information laws. The letters, obtained by Sky News Australia, were sent from Mr Morrison directly to the Victorian Premier and detail the pressure the Prime Minister placed on Mr Andrews to accept Defence Force help.’
17.01.2022 So, um, apparently the hotel quarantine hiring process was about ‘inclusion’ and employing ‘marginalised’ groups, despite their lack of training. And, ahem, some were sourced from WhatsApp. Because managing a global pandemic is really the time to play identity politics and hire people based on their background, didn’t you know? It was rushed. Problems were ignored. Departments did not know who was in charge of what. Offers of help from the ADF were ignored. ... No wonder Dan Andrews does not want to answer questions. He knows how devastating this is, but journalists are digging, and he can’t hide forever. Great work by journalists at The Age here.
17.01.2022 The left are currently having an hysterical fit over this cartoon in The Australian today. Little do they realise that the point is to criticise today’s new racism: elevating someone’s colour as the central part of their identity and using it for political advantage. The cartoon literally critiques racism, it does not perpetuate it. It is using Joe Biden’s own words (check the tweet) and showing that elevating race as a central pillar of his campaign IS the problem.
17.01.2022 Except Cook did not invade in 1770. He was an explorer. The First Fleet arrived in 1788 and then started a colony, nine years after Cook died.
16.01.2022 China believes in itself. It values its culture and its history. The west does not. Britain and America, two great civilisations, now have vacuous debates about privilege, about history, about patriarchy, about tearing down statues and censoring historical programs and cancelling individuals and narratives upon which the society was built. One should ask the question that if we are not even capable of defending our history, culture and values between ourselves, then how can we possibly remain strong against a civilization inexorably marching forward with a firm sense of purpose and resolve?
16.01.2022 This is a government obsessed with identity politics and woke symbolism. We might have gender diversity commissars and directors for inclusion and intersectionality, but we certainly don’t have thriving businesses or a functional public health system.
16.01.2022 I know that leftists are increasingly offended by the notion of a stable nuclear family with a father who likes to attend football matches, but the hysterical reaction to Morrison’s innocuous actions is completely unhinged.
16.01.2022 Left wing ‘news’ site The New Daily is completely funded by Industry Super Funds, so far splurging $28 million of members’ money on a propaganda outlet yet to turn a profit. The left loves to whinge and moan about the Murdoch media, but at least Murdoch outlets are reliant on funding provided by willing subscribers or advertisers who choose to use the platform according to their own free will.
16.01.2022 How awfully convenient that the findings won’t be released until November... Politics 101. Want to deflect? Call an inquiry. Then, ensure the inquiry’s report is released once the heat is off. They could run this online, but there is no desire to. Andrews is a devious political animal. How ironic that he will somehow emerge as the ‘hero’ for ‘saving’ Victoria from a second wave that his government is responsible for causing. By the time this report is released, the ‘leave Dan alone’ crowd will be singing his praises us our saviour. He knows that if we get through this six weeks, the momentum will be with him and the stink from this report will wash off.
15.01.2022 The Andrews government is ultimately responsible for this second wave and there needs to be accountability. No amount of social media spin and carefully staged media management is going to change that.
15.01.2022 Oh think of those poor kids being indoctrinated into the white male patriarchy because Santa is male. But seriously: Santa Claus is based on the historical figure of Saint Nicholas. There is no need to ‘modernise Santa’. Full story here: https://thehooksite.com/people-think-santa-should-be-female
15.01.2022 If JK Rowling is really public enemy number one of the trans community then they should perhaps consider that the battle for rights is largely won. I mean, if your biggest public battle is against a left leaning author who believes in biological sex then take a moment to think about how much progress has been made over the past 60 years. Same goes for the wider LGBTQ community complaining about a lack of representation in her books. If you are piping up because a fictional wizard is not gay then maybe the world is not so bad if that is the issue keeping you up at night.
15.01.2022 How is it possible that people can still claim Dan Andrews is doing a good job? At what point does it have to get to before the sycophants who shower him with praise realise that the smooth talker with a savvy social media team has completely botched Victoria’s response? The facts speak for themselves: ...Continue reading
14.01.2022 How about an honest post, Dan Andrews style: We believe in avoiding accountability for our actions. That is why we have delayed the report into hotel quarantine until November. ... Because nobody in my government deserves to be left behind. To all my ministers nervous about our political fortunes, I just want to say this. I’m proud of you. All of you. We’ve got this. And that is why I am asking all of us to play our part. I know this is tough and I don’t want to nag, but please, for the sake of our poll numbers, answer no questions about the quarantine. Even in parliament. Because now, more than ever, we must avoid and deflect. And to our journalists out there, I see you, and I thank you. Every day you front up, searching for answers, asking the hard questions, seeking the truth. But sadly, now is not the time for the truth. I know it’s hard, I know it’s frustrating, and I know you’re over this. I get it. This is not easy. None of this is easy. I’ll be up front about that. But it has to be this way. This is why. Because at the end of the day, all that matters is my political image. That is what is most important. For me. (Comments: Thank you so much for keeping us safe, Dan. You’re doing such a great job, Dan.)
14.01.2022 Labor celebrates 100 press conferences. Victorians mourn for over 800 dead and countless businesses driven into the ground. 100 press conferences in a row is not an achievement. It is evidence of Andrews’ megalomania and his inability to delegate or trust anyone else. Andrews wants to be in the centre but is quick to absolve himself of responsibility. He wants the control but not the heat when things go awry. ... The reason he has run 100 press conferences in a row, and been sure to let everyone know about it, is because it is a public relations exercise to provide political capital for the string of poor decisions. It is about controlling the message. Andrews knows that he and his department are culpable, but by fronting up every day and giving the appearance of answering questions (while not actually saying anything at all) he hopes to gain political capital that he can use to push back against the inevitable backlash coming his way once more facts come out. And they will. Don’t be fooled by the 100 press conferences. It is basic PR and media management. Hence why Labor is posting about it.
14.01.2022 Australia: Number one producer of the world's lithium. Third largest deposits in the world. And no national strategy on electric vehicles. Absurd.
14.01.2022 The Left: The Liberal Party is a sexist, misogynist group of old white men. The Liberal Party: Strangely good at electing female leaders... Gladys Berejiklian - NSW... Deb Frecklington - QLD Lia Finocchiaro - NT Liza Harvey - WA See more
13.01.2022 This meme pretty much sums up the Hotel Quarantine Inquiry. Collective amnesia seems to have taken hold of the government. After weeks of questions to ministers and the premier, still no one can say who ordered private security to oversee hotel quarantine. There can only be two conclusions: 1. They are lying and trying to cover for themselves. ... 2. There was no ministerial oversight and everything was left to bureaucrats to make decisions without informing elected officials. Either way, it has exposed horrendous government incompetence for which Victorians are paying the price mentally and financially. Tragically, in many cases, it has cost lives. Victorians have paid more than $3 million for this inquiry. Yet there are still no answers.
13.01.2022 According to postmodern critical theory now taught in our universities, MLK’s famous words about being colour blind are now racist. This is why it is apparently offensive to say ‘All Lives Matter’. The radical left now hold that race is central to one’s identity and experience of the world and because of that, it is simply not possible for individuals to be judged on character since they are the product of their racial identity. That is why we are told that white people are ...all racist and that cannot change, or why it is only white people that can be racist. The liberal project of the past 50 years that attempted to erase race and gender from our consciousness has now been corrupted by postmodern academics who wish to centralise it. This is why we now have diversity officers in workplaces or government departments whose job it is to directly judge institutions by the amount of different races and genders they employ. This is also why people are told that they are not entitled to speak about certain issues because they lack the lived experience and are not standard-bearers for a particular identity. If you point out that you don’t see race or gender, you are now derided as, at best, naive, or at worst, perpetuating a racist, misogynistic system and showing no interest in dismantling it. People need to be aware that the stated goal of postmodern social justice activists is not simply equality of opportunity based on liberal principles, of which most decent people want. What they want is to completely dismantle the core tenets of western democracies and the values upon which they were built. They contend that the enlightenment values of reason, logic and science are merely manifestations of white male patriarchy and are therefore inherently problematic. What social justice activism sinisterly does is take well meaning individuals who want to do the right thing and utilise them for a pernicious cause. Yet many well meaning people are unaware that, by passively accepting diversity commissars in their workplaces and governments, they are enabling the radical left to chip away at the fabric of our society. We are allowing the centralisation of race, gender and sexuality into our institutions when the liberal movements of yesteryear advocated for the precise opposite. We must resist attempts by radicals to devalue character and individualism. Great liberals like Martin Luther King would be ashamed of where this has ended up. People must continue to keep faith with liberalism and individualism if we are to maintain the essence of the great societies western civilisation has built. If we don’t, then everyone will lose. If you want to learn more, read the wonderful book ‘Cynical Theories: How Activist Scholarship Made Everything about Race, Gender, and Identity--And Why This Harms Everybody.’ https://www.amazon.com.au/Cynical-Theories-Sch//1634312023
12.01.2022 Back after a short hiatus. Let’s begin by reminding everyone why The Guardian is a joke.
12.01.2022 Victoria cut back on contact tracing and refused ADF support from the federal government. Yet all of Andrews’ supporters keep repeating, like cult followers, that he is doing a ‘great job.’
12.01.2022 Want the lockdowns to end? Download the app. Want to go to the pub? Download the app. Want to go to a mate’s place? Download the app. Want gyms to reopen? Download the app. Want to see extended family? Download the app. ... Want to eat out? Download the app. Want footy to start again? Download the app. Want schools reopened? Download the app. If you are paranoid, recalcitrant and contrarian - don’t download the app. And then everyone stays home. For longer than necessary. It’s pretty simple, really. The government will only lift restrictions once it is confident it can monitor potential outbreaks in the community. Want to help? Download the app.
12.01.2022 This is fast becoming an absolute shambles. Players weren’t even told that they would be subject to hotel quarantine. The communication is appalling. ... Many players now regret coming. Yulia Putintseva wrote on Twitter: "What I don't understand is that, why no one ever told us, if one person on board is positive the whole plane need to be isolated. I would think twice before coming here". Sorana Cirstea: "if they told us this rule before I would not play Australia. I would have stayed home. They told us we would be a close contact only if my team or cohort [those sitting close by on a flight] tests positive". No.11 Belinda Bencic wrote on Twitter "Actually no we didn't [know what we signed up for], we made our decision to come here from rules that were sent to us. Then we arrived and received an information/rule book with more/new rules that we did not know about". No one knows what is happening. The whole thing is an international embarrassment orchestrated by the incompetent Andrews government that once again shows it is utterly incapable of producing clear, rational and logical parameters during this pandemic. 12.01.2022 BREAKING: Health Minister Jenny Mikakos has resigned after Andrews threw her under the bus. "I am disappointed that my integrity has sought to be undermined," Ms Mikakos said in a statement on Twitter. "I know that my statement and evidence [to the inquiry] would have been uncomfortable for some.... "I have today written to the Governor of Victoria to resign my commissions as a Minister effective today. I will also be resigning from the Parliament." There is clearly bad blood in the government right now. It will be interesting to watch the subsequent factional infighting and leaks to come.
11.01.2022 What do you think of the Liberal Democrats’ proposals for reform? They make some fair arguments: Bold reform is going to be absolutely vital to get Australians back to work and to get the country's finances back in order post COVID-19. The Liberal Democrats believe we'd be much better off paying down our growing debt during a fast recovery than during a sluggish and prolonged one. Now is the time to cut taxes.... A flat 20% income tax, with a high tax free threshold of $40,000 will bring immediate cost of living relief to all Australians, especially to those on lower incomes who already pay a large share of their budget in tax (through the GST). Company tax should be slashed to 20%, to bring Australian businesses back on a competitive playing field compared to the rest of the world, and to incentivise further investment from abroad into all industries across the country. Alcohol and wine taxes should be unconditionally abolished, immediately. The hospitality and tourism sectors have been hardest hit by COVID-19, and getting rid of these sin taxes will ensure these industries enjoy a fast and prosperous recovery. Finally, the GST should be removed from our energy bills. GST is exempt from other essential goods and services (groceries, health, education), but not from energy. This needs to change.
10.01.2022 An astonishing list of fails that should be shown to anyone who mindlessly claims that ‘Dan is doing a good job.’
10.01.2022 When Victorians are anxious and looking to their representatives more than ever, the Andrews government attempted, without any medical advice to support it, to force electorate offices to close around the state. Oh, but Labor government ministers could have their offices open. This was merely an attempt to frustrate efforts of the Opposition in holding the government accountable for what has been a catastrophic public policy failure. Dan Andrews is as slippery as they come, and now Victorians are starting to see his real face.
10.01.2022 The latest figure leftists want to cancel: Abraham Lincoln. That’s right, Abraham Lincoln, the president who freed the slaves and ultimately paid for it with his life. Why? Because not all of his policies benefited people of colour. This is the sort of insane ideological purity that the modern left demands. No one is safe according to the dogmatic gatekeepers of virtue. One might argue that these are only radical people on the fringes. Sure, you might be right. But the prob...lem is that this sort of woke insanity is creeping into our cultural institutions everywhere, often by stealth. It is the radicals driving policy change and making it normalised. Diversity officers, equality ministers, language guides. It starts small but the endgame is a complete reworking of cultural norms. It is up to decent people to resist woke left politics and its various manifestations. The left will ultimately eat itself because inevitably everyone will get cancelled because no one can live up to the virtuous purity demanded, but the damage this will do to the social fabric of our society will be irreparable. 10.01.2022 Jordan Peterson appreciation post. This clip still brings so much joy.
10.01.2022 Thousands of Victorians are still stranded in NSW, but the red carpet has been rolled out for 1200 tennis players and officials, some infected with Covid-19. I make no apology for keeping Victorians safe. Dan Andrews.
09.01.2022 How is it possible that the Andrews government is still using unreliable private contractors for hotel quarantine? Even after the inquiry they still cannot get it right. The way it is looking, Victoria could be at risk of another wave because we are led by a government without a coherent structure. Andrews has too much central control. He does not delegate to ministers and bureaucrats are left scrambling in various departments to get it right, hence why no one could explain ...the decision to hire private security in the first place. Don’t trust the Herald Sun? Fine, read about it in The Age here: https://www.theage.com.au//police-step-in-at-quarantine-ho Or The Guardian here: https://www.theguardian.com//contract-staff-pulled-from-ro
09.01.2022 At a time when the public demand answers about the state mismanagement of this pandemic, the Andrews government is deflecting, obfuscating and hiding. Minister Mikakos’ performance in parliament yesterday was disgraceful. Judge for yourself.
09.01.2022 Oh yes. The selfish people of Melbourne. You mean the same selfish people who have been in lockdown for the majority of days since March? You mean the selfish people who have been given, at most, two hours of daylight since July?... You mean the selfish people who have sacrificed birthdays, weddings, funerals, engagements? You mean the selfish people who have not seen their family since July? You mean the selfish people who have seen their business go under or lost their means of income? You mean the selfish people who were told by their government that lockdown was their fault? You mean the selfish people who have homeschooled their children while also working from home? You mean the selfish people who have been subject to a curfew that had no public health basis? You mean the same selfish people who have watched other states successfully manage the virus but are still giving their Premier the benefit of the doubt with 62% supporting him? You know what. Don’t call people selfish when they are merely desperate for something that remotely resembles normal. The majority of people have and are trying to do the right thing and they have been doing so for more than seven months now. The people of Melbourne should be commended for what they have endured at the hands of their government this year. The more suitable terms would be patient, tolerant, stoic and resilient. And now we’re being told that we will likely not be out of lockdown come October 19. It is understandable that people have had enough. Just to be clear: this is not a green light to break the rules, but a call for some basic empathy for people who might not be coping as well as others. Think, before you just label someone as selfish.
08.01.2022 It has been quite the week. As much as I would like to wholeheartedly support the Black Lives Matter movement, it is made increasingly more difficult every day. The problem with progressives is that they often start with a reasonable proposition and then they poison it with unreasonable demands and actions that deter reasonable people from supporting them. We see it with feminism, with transgender rights, and we see it with civil rights. Black lives matter. Indigenous people ...Continue reading
08.01.2022 Victorian government: if you return from NSW you must get tested immediately. Then it does not plan for the inevitable influx of people seeking to get tested. Once again, Dan Andrews and his government show their incompetence. Meanwhile, NSW are processing more than 30,000 tests a day, sometimes 60,000.
07.01.2022 On one level it does make sense to utilise business and throw it an economic lifeline, but it is strangely perplexing as to why the Andrews government STILL refuses to use ADF support. Which union does not want it to happen, one wonders. Report: https://www.heraldsun.com.au//4bf8da63d467c21c2bd623c40e15
07.01.2022 LEFTIST LOGIC: ‘Nationwide BLM protests with thousands gathering in the streets is a necessary and responsible course of action during a global pandemic that totally sends the right message.’ Prime Minister goes to one football game: ‘OH MY GOD! HOW IRRESPONSIBLE AND SELFISH! TOTALLY SENDING THE WRONG MESSAGE! WHAT A DISGRACE!’
07.01.2022 Western countries are now ashamed of their history and culture. Left wing postmodernism seeks to dismantle the values that made the west great: reason, science, logic and liberalism. Compare this to China, a country which venerates its leaders of the past and celebrates its culture and history. It marches forward, while the west tears itself apart.
07.01.2022 EXCLUSIVE! We can reveal the start date of Victoria’s road to recovery.
06.01.2022 In a surprise to absolutely nobody...
06.01.2022 The Harper’s Letter is one of the most important publications of the 21st Century. It should be read and shared widely. ‘The free exchange of information and ideas, the lifeblood of a liberal society, is daily becoming more constricted. While we have come to expect this on the radical right, censoriousness is also spreading more widely in our culture: an intolerance of opposing views, a vogue for public shaming and ostracism, and the tendency to dissolve complex policy issue...s in a blinding moral certainty. We uphold the value of robust and even caustic counter-speech from all quarters. But it is now all too common to hear calls for swift and severe retribution in response to perceived transgressions of speech and thought. More troubling still, institutional leaders, in a spirit of panicked damage control, are delivering hasty and disproportionate punishments instead of considered reforms. Editors are fired for running controversial pieces; books are withdrawn for alleged inauthenticity; journalists are barred from writing on certain topics; professors are investigated for quoting works of literature in class; a researcher is fired for circulating a peer-reviewed academic study; and the heads of organizations are ousted for what are sometimes just clumsy mistakes. Whatever the arguments around each particular incident, the result has been to steadily narrow the boundaries of what can be said without the threat of reprisal. We are already paying the price in greater risk aversion among writers, artists, and journalists who fear for their livelihoods if they depart from the consensus, or even lack sufficient zeal in agreement. This stifling atmosphere will ultimately harm the most vital causes of our time. The restriction of debate, whether by a repressive government or an intolerant society, invariably hurts those who lack power and makes everyone less capable of democratic participation. The way to defeat bad ideas is by exposure, argument, and persuasion, not by trying to silence or wish them away.’
05.01.2022 Just so you’re aware, while thousands of Victorians are out of work and businesses are going under, the Andrews government found time to appoint Victoria’s first ‘gender equality commissioner’ to help force public sector workplaces to define individuals by their gender and not their merit.
04.01.2022 Make no mistake, the Chinese government is a coercive, manipulative, human rights abusing, propaganda spreading, international law flouting wrecker that must be held accountable for its actions. But it is not. And we are partly to blame.
04.01.2022 Many Victorians don’t know about this, but if you fail to register your pool or spa with your local council before November 1st of this year, you could be liable for a $1,652 fine, courtesy of the Andrews government. The regulation has been poorly communicated to Victorians who know little about it. Pool or spa owners must pay a fee of $79 to register it and to book an ‘information search fee’ so it can be inspected. Factor that into your budget as the annual council rates ...arrive in the mail. 03.01.2022 Victorian prisoners are set to get 4 days off their sentence for every day they are in lockdown under a new move by the Andrews government.
03.01.2022 Happy New Year to Victorians. Thanks to Dan Andrews and Victoria’s incompetent, panicking government, you now have rush home with less than 24 hours notice. This is not only unnecessary, it is dangerous. How many people will be hitting the roads right now after consuming alcohol all afternoon? If you are staying in Byron Bay, it is an 18 hour drive home back to Melbourne. So people will need to pull an all-night drive while likely inebriated and fatigued in order to get ho...me in time. Even if you think the border closure is necessary, wouldn’t it make more sense to give 48 hours notice and give people until midnight of January 2nd? One empathises with the countless tourism operators, caravan parks, restaurants and venues that will see just another hit to their revenue. 2020 ends as it started: with Dan Andrews being a peanut. 03.01.2022 Actually cringeworthy. During the bushfires these same people were sharing petitions for the Governor General to sack Scott Morrison, despite that also being a state issue and there being no direct government action that caused the fires (except for climate change apparently being Morrison’s fault). Yet they are awfully kind hearted and forgiving when the Andrews government played a direct hand in botching hotel quarantine and unleashing the second wave across the state.
02.01.2022 Members of the Greens and Victorian Socialists often use local councils as a Trojan Horse to quietly prosecute their political agenda under the cloak of anonymity. Be careful who you vote for during the council elections, lest you be advancing the political career of a left wing agitator more interested in serving their interests than yours.
01.01.2022 Mikakos knows something. It is a fair question: why hasn’t the report released Andrews’ phone records from March 27? The inquiry was a sham. It only served to provide political cover for Andrews. Where is the accountability for 801 people who have lost their lives due to this government failure? Further to that, Andrews lied to the public. He threw the security companies under the bus, implying that guards were misbehaving, yet it has been uncovered that the main problem was... government mismanagement and that the guards acted appropriately. 01.01.2022 Australia has done remarkably well so far, but some people cannot bring themselves to give credit to the man they despise.
