19.01.2022 33km Thunderbolt Corker Runners will start at Salisbury Lodges, head out on the Blue Gum loop trail and then join the southern end of Rocky Crossing walk. Runners will head up the steep hill to reach Williams Top picnic area and continue on the main access road until they reach Lagoon Pinch picnic area where they are required to undergo a mandatory check-in with race officials, before heading up the Corker. The turn around point is at the top on the Corker. Runners must und...ergo another mandatory check-in on the way back down. The reason for this is to ensure the health and safety of each runner before heading up the Corker and on their way back. Runners will have to reach Lagoon Pinch picnic area by 10am to be able to proceed up the Corker. There will be a special prize awarded for the fastest male and female for the Corker Trail section. 11.01.2022 THUNDERBOLT 2019, with bonus kilometres and views! The 2019 Thunderbolt trail runs will have the 50km Thunderbolt Ultra, which climbs up the Corker, visits the amazing Carey's Peak lookout, then does a loop through high alpine forests before returning down the Corker and along the Williams River to Salisbury Lodges. The old 33km Corker challenge is now a 36km with turnaround at Carey's Peak. As many people as possible should take in that view!... The 16km and 2km kids races are unchanged from 2018. Total elevation gains for the longer races: 50K: 1502m 36K: 1301m 16K: 383m And entries will open tomorrow afternoon- keep an eye on this page for a link.
