19.01.2022 SO excited to be based in Bowden, SA for the next few weeks with Tricia Ross. We are working on a series of bite-sized sessions for both new learners and alumni to be able to practice their skills in this beautiful studio. We will be setting up a dedicated Tintype lighting studio and helping people build a small body of work! We haven't yet released details but please stay tuned for dates and times and costs. Numbers will be VERY limited and structured to be Covid-Safe, but w...e are obviously keeping an eye on how things transpire with current restrictions. If you are reading this and thinking, 'yes I'd quite fancy learning a beautiful historical process to expand my current repertoire' or 'ooooh yes it's about time I brushed up on my wet plate skills' then please send us a message so we can pencil you in. We will run the sessions twice each week so please also let us know what suits you best - weekday (morning , afternoon) or weekend? Eeeek!

17.01.2022 We have a new website!! Now, it's still in draft stage but we plan to populate with all sorts of goodies very soon, Check it out - and let us know if you have any feedback for functionality :) https://www.tintypetraveller.com.au/

14.01.2022 Today we had the wonderful Tricia working with her new #intrepid 8x10 field camera making her first 8x10 plates! Peter also had a go and both got some wonderful results. Wrangling the larger plates does take a bit of practice but what a fabulous day we had!

14.01.2022 Now that we are set up in the beautiful country town of Maccclesfield, I thought it would be fun to start photographing the locals! This is Greg - he runs the local farm supply store and offers a lovely petrol service filling up for you the old-fashioned way. I was hoping to catch him at the petrol bowser but the light was too severe - stay tuned for an updated shot of Greg when I get around to it! Sam :)

02.01.2022 Tricia came in today for a Tintype Refresher session. Despite the heat the air-conditioned darkroom worked a treat to keep both the photographers and the chemistry happy. We also set up the awning to keep the scorching sun off. This one-on-one option is great if you are a wet-plate enthusiast keen to get more experience before delving into your own darkroom setup! Tricia did an amazing job - we started with 4x5" plates before she threw herself into some 5x7" plates - what an upgrade! Watch out world - Tricia has a brand new 8x10" camera that will be getting a workout next time...
