15.01.2022 With live music thin on the ground right now its important to support your local artists, Bandcamp is waiving all fees until 6pm tonight so its a great day for a shopping spree but you can also take the steps of following your favoured artists pages and choosing "See First" so their content actually comes through to your news feed. I just typed out a post with 73 tags and Facebook very kindly informed me that was not allowed and deleted it. These spaces such as The Newsagency, The Red Rattler Theatre, Giant Dwarf etc. need our support.

03.01.2022 Recovidry is a Sydney local music show that aims to help keep the scene afloat in the absence of live shows. Its currently in production, airing in September. The show will feature performances filmed at The Townie and the artists will be on to have a chat and partake in some traditional music televsion show improvised foolishness. This opening title video was made by Amy Louie Gyulay and Recovidry is made possible with assistance from City of Sydney and The Townie

Entry is free, the tables are booked out but you'll find a couple of spots up the back (first in best dressed) and some will naturally empty through the night so if you wanna see a show you might still be in luck

02.01.2022 All live music at the Townie has been cancelled until further notice, effective from tonight. At this point we are not taking any new booking enquiries for after the ban is lifted as we cant speculate when that will be, well put a call out here when that changes. For bands with bookings later in the year well be in touch about what options there are, we hope to recommence as soon as its safe to do so. Well be in touch with anyone who has a booking over the coming week.
