19.01.2022 Like everyone else, my curl journey has been days and months of good hair days, bad hair days, nutting out techniques, products and shapes. Along this way, I have come to realise, I cannot be exclusively curly girl to achieve my desired results. This is my recent hair day no.1 and hair day no.3. My hair type is 2c/3a with low to medium porosity, fine stands but medium to thick density. I use a little bit of sulfates to make sure my hair is not weighted down and to remove t...he build up of my products. I use silicones on days that I know I need to have a good hair day- my hair responds really well to them. I make sure they are removed and my hair is treated with protein and moisture to restore anything that my hair has lost. I without a doubt use drying alcohols in my styling gel. Hydrating gels leave my hair wet looking, greasy and flat. I diffuse with a fast speed and high heat- otherwise my curls dont set and give me volume at the roots. And last of all, I have bleach foils every 3 months. I cant stand my own natural colour and I believe my hair curls up more, when my hair has been compromised with the bleach process. Finding out this routine has been difficult- considering I am a curly hair exclusive hairdresser. But its definitely teaching me, that not all of us need to follow the rules of the curly girl method. We should learn them, learn how to listen to our hair and make our own decisions on what we want to try. Dont feel guilty for using something thats not CG friendly. 17.01.2022 Hello curly’s! I will be returning to work in warragul on Thursday’s for limited appointments in August. Due to COVID-19 I will be operating differently. Appointments will not be accepted from clients who reside in hotspot areas. I will only be offering dry cuts to adults only, no children’s cuts. Masks that starch around the ears must be worn. And clients must not bring other people to the appointment, confirm their address upon arrival and be temperature checked. 16.01.2022 I’ve felt pressured not share this article, incase social media backlash. You may have already read the article and have different options on the editors choice to convey the meaning of the Curly Girl method. For me, this article highlights that more people (other then my own clients) struggle with rigid rules with taking care of curly hair. Why do we accept behaviors from online bullies? When this method is meant to bring people together and give them another tool in their ...tool kit for looking after their hair. For goodness sake, shampoo your hair if you want to, use ‘nasty’ products if you want to, use heat on your hair if you want to, straighten your hair if you want to, colour and bleach it too! Make a decision about your hair that is purely for you- at the end of the day, you know what works, you know your hair better then any hairdresser or social media influencer.

My roster in Warragul will be Thursday (including the evenings) and Saturday. I will also be offering a limited number of colour appointments to clients in Warragul too. I have some exciting news, I’ll be joining the team at Second Story Salon in Traralgon on Tuesday afternoons. At this stages all haircut appointments will be dry cuts only.
