25.01.2022 As educators and parents, we want children to not only gain the knowledge they need but also have fun and be comfortable in the process Finding non-threatening ways to help kids discover their voice will benefit them for the rest of their lives. With the extra perks of appealing to different learning styles and solidifying concepts in a memorable way, role-playing is one of those rare, dependable strategies that will always remain in my bag of teaching tricks

23.01.2022 A form of role-playing that I experienced as a student, carried with me and even used as a teacher, is that of assuming a character’s role when reading a book as a group. It's basically a no-pressure situation where you can still be involved in what’s happening in the class. The teacher assigned students the ’speaking parts' of whatever text the class was reading. All of the students, even the quietest ones, would volunteer for the speaking parts. They could do it from their desks, no one was looking at them, and it was a great way to accomplish several classroom goals at once: improving speaking skills, increasing student engagement, and raising the comfort level for all students This cute little crew can be whoever and whatever they want to be with a club house like this @castleandcubby @ Dunsborough, Western Australia

04.01.2022 Some students thrive on public speaking and giving presentations. However for some getting up in front of their peers results in sweaty palms, shaky hands, and a red face. But what can you do? Public speaking is important. Presentation skills are also important. Instilling confidence in students is REALLY important There are ways to make this sort of practice much less intimidating, and one of those ways is through role-playing. This strategy provides students with a non th...reatening environment to hone these skills at a comfortable level which a lot of the time will strengthen conceptual learning I can only imagine the type of role playing that would go on in this cubby. It looks so good I would live in it! @courtneyadamo @ Dunsborough, Western Australia
