24.01.2022 Another dark blue S2 off to its new home I tried a black base coat under the blue to make it a bit deeper and love the results This build has the majority of the 2.1 upgrades Including the prototype for a new ash door on the firebasket. when you have turned the "drum" off and still have a heap of unburned charcoal in the basket, all you have to do is empty the ash (without touching the old charcoal), put some more lit charcoal and smoking woods on top and cook away!... How a small modification can have such a massive difference is mindblowing I cant wait to see some pics of her rollin smoke . . . . #notadrum #nothingcompares See more

The combination of MIG / TIG welding, Fabrication expertise and a mad BBQ addiction has definitely stepped the build quality to the next level. 20.01.2022 So its been a long time between posts, 2020 has been an "interesting" year so far I hope everyone is coping ok with these crazy times and still finding a way to get on with life. On a lighter note, with all the time off I've been able to finish some jobs at home (happy wife happy life ) and get back into the bulid! Pretty much the entire time I've been building its been a struggle to keep up, with the amount of man hours and attention to detail that goes into each dru...m its near on impossible as a one man show. So ive enlisted the help of a couple of local legends to help. An incredible welder and fellow 'Cue addict Jacko has bought alot to the table with some fresh ideas and a wealth of fabrication knowledge and experience Also my Hock Stock team mate, and the guy that single handedly built the "Purdy Pig" has been helping out as he always does We've been playing around with a few ideas for the future so keep an eye out! 18.01.2022 Things have been ramping up here a fair bit lately I got fed up with running a firebasket to set the high temp primer (and coming into summer this wouldn't work) then doing all the prep work only to wait for good weather and paint them outside... So I built an oven to bake the primer out of an old gasser I had , then sacrificed half of my man cave for a paint booth! So much easier with better results

16.01.2022 So I finally delivered the "Snaggletooth" I had alot of dramas getting this logo cut but got it done and im stoked with how it turned out what a colour! Thanks to Eugene for being so patient I can't wait to see some pics of her Rollin smoke!... It is bittersweet tho as this will probably be the last S2 I make for a while I've had nothing but dramas getting stock laser cut, and still haven't got the full order I placed in Sep last year So I have had to go back to my real job Apologies to anyone that was looking to get one, I will endeavour to sort the supply issues out but unfortunately in the meanwhile Ugly Dan will be on hiatus. Massive thanks to everyone that supported/encouraged me over the last couple of years it's been an epic ride!

11.01.2022 Finished the first Series 2.1 is for this Ugly SOB Absolutely love the new handle design and the custom jarrah handles With every single component made from thicker steel she has an empty weight of 65kg On the first burn in/cook I almost filled the basket with 15kg of Heat Beads , did a couple of cooks ranging from 120-140C and got a burn time of 50hrs with overnight temps down to 0C which equates to about 50c/hour running cost on that fuel... 08.01.2022 I gave the "Snaggletooth" a 2.1 upgrade this week and also added a Smartfire adaptor and summer pack It got the new hinges, lid and handle A stainless backing plate behind the logo, new front door spacer and seal, new paint and a set of jarrah handles Absolutely love the contrast of the gloss lightning blue/satin black/jarrah and stainless together... #snaggletooth #notadrum #nothingcompares
