24.01.2022 Tonight in my spot - p.s. found this quote today and had to share with my CYSTAS the past is your lesson. The present is your gift. The future is your motivation. I went to the beach today without my phone (sounds normal but it’s not - disconnecting is hard for me). Looking around, I realised the gift of being present. I hope you are all present tonight! Appreciate the now #happysaturday

13.01.2022 || CRAVINGS & HORMONES || on the weekend I had so many cravings for sweet and salty food. The funny thing is, I now crave fruit, smoothies, coconut yoghurt or a big bowl of sweet potato chips (or cauliflower chips with nutritional yeast). In contrast, I used to crave a bag of lollies, chocolate or chips. I’m not saying I don’t eat lollies if I really want them (I’m all about treating myself in moderation), however, over time I’ve conditioned (and reset) my taste buds to crave... real, whole food, rather than refined, processed, high sugar foods. A lot of women get down on themselves when they give in to cravings but your body is literally telling you it needs something. Whether it’s more calories, more nutrients, more sodium - or more emotional support (particularly if you’re bingeing), there is a reason for your cravings. Since learning about hormones at different phases of the menstrual cycle and how they influence your mood and cravings, I now know my body is often responding to hormonal fluctuations and only letting me know it needs something. Listen to your body and don’t deprive it! As someone who has come a long way with their eating (and lost control through binge Purge disorder for 6 years), the best thing you can do is nourish your body with the right food and understand its connection to your mind. It’s a long journey but it’s so worth it! P.s. I just wrote a blog post about symptoms you should expect at different times of the menstrual cycle (click the link in my profile to read - it’s seriously so interesting!) xx p.p.s if you haven’t already - go try the new Spring menu @kisstheberry - definitely fulfils all cravings! 06.01.2022 || FAV ACNE FRIENDLY SKINCARE & MAKE-UP || okay #CYSTAS fun fact about me - I put my make-up on in the morning with a towel on my head. I like that it holds my hair back . Anyway! Yesterday I started the last module of my @f.acne program (skincare, treatments and home care for acne prone skin). In this section I interview two skin specialists, one toxin free/natural, one conventional (with a natural spin). I thought this would be the easiest section but it’s the hardest! The...re are so many different opinions and studies on skincare, what works, what doesn’t - what messes with the skin’s microbiome. Some people like super natural/botanical, others like super active with different synthetics. I personally like a combination of both but I also don’t like anything too harsh. I always like hearing different experiences so I wanted to ask my CYSTAS what they like! What are your favourite acne prone skincare and make-up products? What has worked for you, what HASN’T worked for you? I am currently trialling new brands of natural products alongside natural, organic make-up. I’ll let you know in a couple of weeks what I like and how it effects my skin :) xx #acneproneskincare #acne #acnetreatment #skincareroutine #mineralmakeup #natural #conventionalskincare See more

05.01.2022 || CORE FOCUS || This morning I went to my first weights class in 4 Months! (Since recovering from my slipped disc in my back) so excited to be back. One tip for anyone with back pain. My physio highlighted the importance of activating your core. Studies suggest that some lower back pain is related to a lack of muscle activity in key muscles of the lumbar spine. Apparently doing crunches and sit ups won’t automatically activate this area of the trunk. You have to go back ...to basics (this is what I’ve been doing over the past two months to help my disc). We’re talking finding your neutral spine position and learning what it feels like to really activate your abs. I have been wearing a posture belt which beeps at me when I relax LOL. Anyway, today when I was lifting Weights, I focussed on my core the WHOLE time. My back didn’t hurt once, I had better stability and and I felt a lot stronger. I encourage you to work on activating your abdominals to improve posture and lower back pain because it really helped me and I’m sure it could help a lot of people!
