24.01.2022 "You can go out there and do anything with your skill. We all have something we're good at. It's about using that and going after it and doing what you want." - Trent White - Darumbal and Yiman man and photographer. Beautiful project

18.01.2022 The smallest of mementos from past journeys beyond my borders are scattered around my home. Each holds a memory of where I went, how it made me feel, the relationships I made, the moments experienced, and the impacts on my life that have come about through a change of perspective from my everyday. Each tiny, lightweight memento creates a timeline of memories of a longer journey than the one they represent alone. My submission to the LensCulture Award themed 'Journey's'. #photography #travelphotography #journeys #travel #memento

12.01.2022 My favourite ever Google homepage this morning! Celebrating Artemisia Gentileschi, who was born on this day in 1593. An Italian Baroque painter, she is now considered one of the most accomplished seventeenth-century artists. Working in the dramatic style of Caravaggio , she was the first woman admitted to the Accademia delle Arti del Disegno in Florence. She painted in the courts of Europe and became friends with the likes of Galileo Galilei. I had the chance to have a hy...pothetical conversation with Artie (as I like to call her) - interpreted by author Mary-Rose MacColl and artist Sam Cranstoun - when I was part of QPAC's Impossible Conversations project in 2018. 08.01.2022 A change of scenery this week for a job out in the beautiful Scenic Rim south west of Brisbane. I was quite taken with the curious residents of one of our locations. The Summer Land Camel Farm also houses a cafe in the beautiful old homestead that was once the family home of early Australian film maker Charles Chauvel. #dream #plan #book #goodtogo #visitscenicrim

05.01.2022 I feel a bit like this Queen at the moment - always chewing food or thinking about it! I've been out shooting in lots of foodie locations in the past couple of months and am now back at my desk writing content about the cultural connections and sources of all those delicious foods and flavours for some exciting new food tours in the South East Queensland region. #nomnomnom #foodphotography #paddocktoplate #bushfoods #culturaltourism #foodtourism #photographer #writer #storyteller

04.01.2022 The stories of regional and rural Australia are important: our stories matter. Local stories matter. "In recent months we have seen more than 150 regional and community newspapers cease printing. This is on top of the 106 local and regional papers that closed over the previous decade. While the Government has announced a $50 million Public Interest News Gathering (PING) program to support regional journalism, more needs to be done."... Write to your local member today with template before, calling for more action. #ourstories, #ourcommunities and #MEAAmedia

01.01.2022 A great visual exploration of place by Todd Cleave in Western Australia. Heavily inspired by the Kimberley and South West region, Cleave incorporates the two regions together. "I don't see what other people see sometimes, I see a little bit more, and I like to add that into my photos." #photography #surrealism #art #placemaking
