25.01.2022 Last day today - A few people had asked for some photos so I thought I'd share some before, during & today photos. It's certainly an emotional day today, we love this beautiful old building and I'm very proud of how awesome this place is now. Thanks so much to Martin, he has worked so hard and I do appreciate it very much. To all our friends and family who have helped along the way, we thank you all x

25.01.2022 Just had a cancellation for Friday night, anyone keen? 3 course meal & drink on arrival, live music by Gary Stillwell ($40 per person). Arrive between 6-6.30pm. ... We've got about 40 people coming but can fit a table of 6 people and a couple of tables of 2 people. Msg me on Facebook guys and I'll confirm as soon as I can! It's going to be an awesome night

Any restaurants/cafes/wineries out there should definitely give them a call. He thinks it's time for another competition - he reminded me that Mother's Day is just around the corner! MAIN Linguini pasta with your choice of the following sauce: Creamy chicken & bacon Smoked salmon & pesto Roasted vegetable & napoletano sauce DESSERT - choose from one of the following: Portuguese custard tart, served with vanilla ice cream and scorched almond praline. Vintage Bean Classic - Chocolate Brownie, served with whipped cream Creme Brûlée, creamy egg custard with a torched toffee crust. We have already had at least 4 tables booked so please get in early if you want to join us. DETAILS: When: Friday 2nd June around 6-6.30pm How much: $40 per head What's included: 3 course meal & a glass of whatever you like on arrival, live entertainment by Garry Stillwell and of course our fabulous company. 15.01.2022 CLOSING OUR DOORS - not renewing lease Thanks so much to all of our very loyal customers, many of whom we now call friends. Your support is very much appreciated. The lease comes due at the end of next month (June) and we have decided that we will not be renewing it. This has been a very difficult decision, we love Mclaren vale and we will be forever grateful to have been so embraced by the local community. ... Martin & I would like to say a HUGE thank you to our fabulous team who have been with us since we opened - Andy (Head Chef), Renee (Barista, front of house and my 'right hand woman') and Katherine (back of house, waitress, runner and dish washer extraordinaire). These guys are all fabulous at what they do and if you know someone who is looking for awesome staff please pm our page and I'll pass on the details. We are not selling the business but we will be selling the plant & equipment. If someone is interested in signing up to lease this space (and deemed acceptable by landlord etc) then we could discuss selling all our 'stuff' on a WIWO basis - it could mean we close the doors one day and the new cafe/restaurant opens the next! Please come in over the next few weeks and enjoy an awesome meal and say your goodbyes to us

13.01.2022 This is Rex in his foster home :) How amazing is he! Did you know that Rex has not had one meet or greet and we don't understand why? Please everybody share Rex...'s post and if you would like to meet Rex in person please pm the page, thank you. AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION THROUGH BE THE CHANGE ANIMAL SHELTER Introducing REX a 2 year old brindle staffy X with an adorable, slobbery smile . Rex has been in basic obediance training for some time now and has been doing really well. A home that would be willing to continue his training would only be of great benefit for this young man and his family. Rex is very willing and is food orientated which makes for a great training tool! He is a very exuberant young dog who needs regular exercise, so an energetic, active family would be great for Rex as he loves to go out. He is fantastic in the car! He has been tested with children and is pretty good and calm around them. Rex loves other dogs, he loves doggy dates and will play for hours especially if it involves a ball! He is a real social butterfly. Rex has a lot of love to give and enjoys human companionship immensely. Rex's adoption fee is $300 which covers his vet work, microchipping, vaccination, flea and worm treatment. Sadly Rex has not had one meet and greet since being in care :( Would everyone who reads Rex's post please share him as we would dearly love to see him in a home of his own. Thank you :)

09.01.2022 It's raining & cold outside but it's nice and warm in here. Andy has been baking up a storm, lots of gluten free & vegan options too. Have a nice day

09.01.2022 SELLING OFF EVERYTHING We have been inundated with enquiries to buy our plant & equipment, including stainless steel benches & shelves, sinks, taps & lots of commercial kitchen equipment. Basically everything in our cafe (except coolroom) will be removed and sold. Everything is less than 2 years old and are all top of the range commercial items. The front counter, funky lights in the front of cafe, all our tables, chairs, lounge suites, 70's memorabilia including crockery w...ill be up for sale. We will be taking photos of everything on Monday and will then be advertised on Facebook and gumtree later next week. We will arrange for people to come in and have a look - they will be able to see everything in working condition. Full payment will be required on the day (non-refundable if you change your mind later). Our last day of trading will be Sunday 25th June and we will arrange for everything to be disconnected (oven, dishwasher, taps, sinks, laundry trough & lights etc) on Monday 26th June. Buyers will then be able to collect their items on Tuesday 27th or Wednesday 28th June. Please note - if not collected no money will be refunded. We can't give people their items when they pay for them as we will still be trading for another 3 weeks or so. We use everything that is up for sale everyday. We will not be taking anything with us, everything will be sold! Please tag any friends that you think might be interested. If you know someone who is starting up their own cafe/restaurant get them to contact us as we have everything needed to set up a new space. UPDATE ON FINAL DINNER/PARTY - next Friday 2nd June.
