19.01.2022 The end of the season Unfortunately today we’ve had to accept our summer season has finally come to an end after a very mild Autumn. The dahlia gardens have slowed right down over the past few weeks and with snow forecast for Friday we won’t have enough blooms to make the @blackheathgrowersmarket on Sunday. Apologies to anyone who was hoping to see us there!... On the bright side, our last order of Spring bulbs arrives this week and we will use the time to get them safely tucked into the garden. 01.01.2022 Our first dahlias were worth waiting for! The tubers did not shoot over Summer as expected with our dry, hot and windy conditions on the top of a ridge. With initial rain in January and lovely follow up rain since, we now have strong, not too tall plants with so many buds. It will be a race to see how many flower before our first frost....
