22.01.2022 To reflect the ever-changing threat of COVID-19, Mid Murray Support Service Inc. would like to advise you that, at this stage, we are still OPEN for business!! ...Whilst taking all necessary and mandatory precautions to ensure the health and safety of all staff, workers, volunteers and consumers, we are adjusting how we deliver our services as per continuous advice from the Commonwealth Department of Health (DoH). NEW CHANGES MMSS Mannum Community Centre ‘The HUB’ will cease all non-essential services and activities from Monday 23rd March 2020. We are committed to providing correct information regarding COVID-19 and therefore we will only share information from our trusted and correct sources. Regular updates will be available via: phone on 8569 2129 or 8569 1832 from Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm to provide information and take any inquiries or to discuss consumer needs. PRECAUTIONS/PPE: You will notice that our workers will now wear suitable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when interacting with consumers. This may include gloves and masks, hand sanitizer at workplaces, in vehicles and with workers attending residences. When accessing services you will be asked a series of questions EG: are you in good health or have you recently travelled overseas. We also will ask you to assist us by maintaining the required 1.5 M social distancing rules and other general precautionary actions like regular hand washing with soap and coughing/sneezing into your elbow etc. CFC ACTIVITIES: As of 5.00pm Friday the 20th March 2020, and after consultation with funding bodies, it has been decided that our Communities for Children (C4C) activities will cease immediately and will continue to be suspended throughout term two. We are in discussion as to how our activities/services will look in coming months so please watch this space for updates. WHAT HASN’T CHANGED CHSP/HACC/NDIS: As it stands currently, our Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP), Home and Community Care (HACC) and NDIS services including Transport, Social Support Calls, Domestic Assistance, Meals (provided frozen), Home/Garden Maintenance will continue until advised otherwise. Staff will also continue to provide information, advocacy and referral services. These services may change from how we have previously undertaken them and may now include: picking up shopping/medications for you Phoning or visiting you to check in and have a chat Technical assistance to seek services via telehealth services If you would like to discuss your services with us, please call the office for assistance with referrals on 8569 2129 Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm. EMERGENCY RELIEF: At this stage MMSS will continue to provide Emergency Relief Services at our Community Centre ‘The HUB’ and be a source of information for vulnerable people within our community. If you need to access this service, it is essential that you call the centre prior to attending. This will allow us the opportunity to ask required questions for everyone’s safety and confirm your eligibility for this support. IN CONCLUSION: We understand that this time can create further stress for many, already isolated, members of our community. During this uncertain time please also check on your own elderly/ vulnerable/ disabled neighbours and friends.
