25.01.2022 We at the community garden are taking a break and will return on Thursday 5th of November.

22.01.2022 Due to a lack of sales and the fact we have an abundance of plants in pots, all 6 inch pots are half price until next year. The VRI Community garden is self funding and really could do with your help and presence. We are open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9 am to 3 pm.

21.01.2022 But why? I get asked quite a lot, why I choose to refurbish - because, it often takes longer to refurbish a piece than it would to make one from scratch. This ...isn’t about what is easier or quicker - it’s about being sustainable. It’s about taking pieces that would otherwise end up in landfill, and giving them a new lease on life. It’s about reusing amazing things we already have, in a new and creative way. It’s about challenging myself, creatively, with each new design. It’s about making truly one off pieces, that have their own history and story. It’s not about doing what is easy or cheap. It’s about doing my part.

12.01.2022 We are very busy this week preparing for the Summer "Break", which means that after this week, we will be on random hours working to keep all the garden projects going and plants alive. We have been adding vents and shadecloth to our greenhouse to try and ensure the seedlings will survive the hotter weather. We hope you all have a good festive season and look forward to seeing people coming along and visiting in the new year. We will be re-opening on Monday the 11th for our regular hours.

09.01.2022 Sarah is amazing! Throughout these lockdowns she has been cooking delicious meals that are distributed throughout our networks. Thanks so much Sarah for your example and commitment. ... #Gratitude

09.01.2022 Things are in full swing down at The VRI gardens, our get swapped box is full of produce, we have countless seedlings for sale and the poppies have bloomed perfectly for Remembrance day. If most of the photos we post seem to be devoid of people, it is because we are struggling to find enough volunteers and visitors to bring back the vibrancy of the community to our community garden. So, if you are wanting to connect with like-minded fellow gardeners, want fresh, organic produce and have some time to share, you are all welcome to visit on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

04.01.2022 The Garden Ninjas out at The VRI Gardens have been busy continuing to keep the gardens looking beautiful and productive. A big shout out to all the volunteers who gave up their time during the holiday period. We officially re-opened yesterday in the hellfire heat, but all of our plants and produce made it through. As a reminder, we are open from 9.00 am to 3.00 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, so you are all welcome to come down and chat, pick some veggies and buy some plants, as we have an abundance of healthy, naturally grown tough vegies, flowers and herbs for your perusal.

02.01.2022 Feel like getting out and about? The garden at the VRI is thriving and volunteers would be welcome:) Pop in Monday, Tuesday or Thursday and see Jon. He'll be thrilled to have some eager helpers. . #friendsyouhaventmetyet... #thevri #communitygarden #volunteering See more

01.01.2022 Every Thursday we pick vegetables and herbs to deliver to Restaurants, quite often we have plenty left over, so we place these out in our 'Get Swapped' box for people to take for free. We also encourage people to come to buy fresh, organic vegetables from the garden beds. The gardens are open from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
