13.01.2022 TWO FATAL CRASHES IN THE RIVERINA OVERNIGHT Our thoughts are with everyone involved. Emergency services were called to Oura Road, Wantabadgery, about 40km east of Wagga at about 10.30pm on Friday following reports of a single-vehicle crash.... A Toyota Landcruiser 4WD had reportedly left the roadway and hit a tree, before the driver was ejected. The driver, a 55-year-old man, died at the scene. The second incident occurred a few hours earlier at about 8.30pm emergency services were called to Merungle Road, Hillston, about 125km north east of Griffith, following reports of a single-vehicle crash. Police arrived on scene to a Toyota Hilux utility which has left the roadway and rolled, ejecting the driver. The driver, a 44-year-old woman, died at the scene. She is yet to be formally identified. Police have commenced investigations into the circumstances of both crashes and will prepare reports for the Coroner. Anyone with information about these incidents is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence.
