24.01.2022 Explore attitudes & stigmas about mental health and suicide Discuss barriers to help seeking & accessing services What weve learned

21.01.2022 Awareness, intervention and prevention is extremely important to us. Due to the virus introducing social distancing into our lives, we chose to limit marketing the event and significantly reduce the lead time of making people aware of the event to keep participants low but in away that still attracted media attention and created awareness of our message to Walk. Talk. Support. Reach out and get help if you need it and treat your mental health as you do physical health. Be kind to others and most of all be kind to yourself. For crisis support call Lifeline on 13 11 14

18.01.2022 Launceston Police are happy for the event to proceed provided all participants use the footpath and obey all relevant road rules. Launceston Police Road and Public Order Services will provide two police officers to escort the group. Looking forward to see you all Saturday.... Conversating Matters..

11.01.2022 Following on from the Tasmanian Suicide Prevention Community Network (TSPCN) meeting, you are invited to a workshop co-facilitated by Everymind and the Mental Health Council Tasmania, this workshop will explore how to prepare and provide safe community discussions on suicide and suicide prevention.

10.01.2022 Tasmanian communities play a vital role in helping to prevent suicide. Communities are not just defined geographically, they can be defined by industry or occupations; hobby or sporting code. They can be workplaces, schools or friendship groups

07.01.2022 Join us as we walk into the light to raise awareness, remember those lost to suicide and unite in a commitment to prevent further deaths by suicide.

01.01.2022 Thank you to the Speakers at this years event from Lifeline, Bereavement Care Network Tasmania, Cornerstone Youth Services and SPEAK UP! Stay ChatTY.

01.01.2022 The 2019 inaugural walk had around 120 wonderful people partake yesterday. Conversation matters and I will continually work with Rotary Club of Central Launceston and the great work they are involved with Sallys Ride Tamar Valley Cycle challenge, that is an initiative to assist in the prevention of youth suicide in Tasmania and in its 11th year this 1st December. I hope to involve other leading community groups that are aligned with this cause like Hawthorn Football Club, Sp...eak up stay chatty, Lifeline to name a few to create an annual event that unites the community and create awareness, conversation, remembering loved ones and raise awareness for people experiencing suicidal or self-harm thoughts to seek professional help. I would like to extend my appreciation to groups and individuals for making the walk a reality with such a short lead-time. Thank you to the Mayors office, Rotary Club of Central Launceston, Liv from the Black Dog Institute, Kahila from The Show Club, Natasha from The Night Market, Kerry Finch for the PA equipment and Launceston Police for all their assistants in making all the necessary arrangement for the Walk to happen yesterday. As well and Lifeline and the crisis worker who attended the Walk. Conversating Matters... For support, call Lifeline on 13 11 14
