18.01.2022 Unfortunately, within the first two days of heading west, we began to have serious overheating issues with @that_boosted_165r , with water temps rarely dipping below 100 degrees celsius, we knew we had a serious problem. We managed to slowly limp the car to the closest major town, Cobar to try to figure out a way that we could continue on without sending the Lux home, being a Sunday, followed by a public holiday... fat chance. With some time to kill, we got to diagnosing the ...Lux, and not only was it overheating, it was pressurising the radiator and pumping all the coolant back into the header tank, we decided it was most likely a blown head gasket. @the_adventures_of_jordy came to the rescue, dropping everything in Sydney and blasting out to Cobar to pick up Nick and his hilux safely and quickly. Within a day of being back in town, @northsidehiperformance1 had already taken the car, stripped the head off and begun to investigate, and it was worse than we thought... the head was cracked in cylinders 1, 2 and was starting to crack in cylinder 4. 12.01.2022 RAWRRRR XD Within being on the dirt for ten minutes, we came across this funny looking little fella. He's a Centralian Bearded Dragon, and when we first saw him, he was such a bright yellow but after a short pusuit and Lachie catching him, he had turned a darker shade of grey and flattened himself right out to make himself look bigger. This is a Beardie's main defence mechanism, flattening out the body, inflating his "beard" and the spikes along the side of his body... When i...n this form, the little pokemon looking dude doesn't look so tasty to a potential predator! 04.01.2022 Bucket List Photo Achieved . Outback NSW is full of little gems . After a few dilemmas, our original plan of heading to the Flinders Ranges has been put into the bin, due to @that_boosted_165r doing a head gasket and having to be towed home, we’ve decided to realign ourselves and redo the Darling River Run, this time with plenty of water in the river. Honestly though, what a day! Constantly topping up the radiator, because the cooling system kept pressurising the header tank and pumping all the water out of the radiator... 37 day, in outback NSW, we were destined for a longggg day.
