24.01.2022 I was meant to be on this flight! You’d think after travelling for 7 months as a family of 4 with two kids under 5 I would be an absolute expert at navigating overseas travel. Well this morning 4 girls set of for a girls week in Bali. We booked it months ago and have talked about it for what seems like forever! Lining up to check in I open my passport and realise I don’t have MY passport but my husband’s passport. WTF. The girls are on their way and I’ll catch the...m later tonight. I could be in tears but instead I have a silly smirk on my face contemplating the absurdity of how this happened!? So I wait for the next flight in 9 hours. 10.01.2022 If you didn’t read my blog post a few weeks back you wouldn’t know that we are going to have a go at supporting some of the amazing businesses and people we meet on our travels. We will be setting up an online shop, trying out a few markets and hopefully setting up some pop up spaces to share these beautiful treasures with others. Here is the first showcase of things we have discovered so far. These gorgeous girls dresses are made by a label called @ekadesma.nepal The m...aterials used in their products are hand woven by small local manufacturers in Nepal and the two sisters who started the label then provide training and employment to over 100 Nepalese women to help them to become financially independent. These dresses are 100% cotton and are available in limited sizes. We are just wanting to test the waters to see if you guys think these are amazing just like we do. Pink dress available for 2-3 years, 4-5 years (Frankie is wearing the 4-5 and she is 4 years old) and 6-7 years. The striped green dress is available for 2-3 years, 6-7 years (Bowie wearing this size and she is 5) and 8-9 years. 07.01.2022 In Buddhism, dharma means "cosmic law and order. The concept of dharma asks us to show loving kindness to all sentient beings, practice mindful consumption, and ultimately live an intentional life that does not harm others and our earth. During this imposed isolation it’s great to have time to think more deeply about what intentions I am choosing and whilst I wouldn’t officially call myself a Buddhist I definitely value Buddhist teachings. During this last year we have mad...e some very intentional decisions. -We have travelled and lived with fewer possessions. -I am intentionally trying to make more eco conscious choices with food which promote non harm, use cleaning and self care products derived of natural products and also try to to be more mindful about what I am spending money on. -I have made a conscious choice about money by aligning work with my core beliefs about what is important. 03.01.2022 Wangi Falls - Litchfield National Park- NT Yesterday the family went back to the cold weather down in Victoria. The trip back to Darwin was a long one - 5 hours instead of 3! We thought we’d stop in and check out parts of Litchfield National Park. ... A few tips before stopping in to somewhere you haven’t been before... - make sure you eat lunch before you travel over another 200 unexpected kms! (The one cafe in the park we planned to have lunch at closed 50min before we got there) - Actually read how far all of the attractions are from each other. Because we hadn’t eaten we only stopped at this one waterfall and just drove past the signs of many others. - Always carry snacks, water, a towel and plastic bag. The snacks were our lunch, the water kept us hydrated in the heat, the towel blocked out the sun streaming into the car for complaining kids and the plastic bag for an unexpected vomit. .
