25.01.2022 The moon is waxing, energy is rising in this 1st quarter phase . You may feel this energising, active, empowering and strengthening energy over the next few days. Woo hoo! This 1st quarter moon is taking place as a sign of Capricorn (where all the action is this year), the sign which rules the skeletal system and our structure, bones, joints, tendons, ligaments, knees and also fascia which holds our body together. 23.01.2022 Although we are not quite out of the woods yet, after the intense planetary shifts energy of last week, this week seems a little easier. Above all else, listen to your body first...here are this weeks energies. Today (Monday) is almost over but the moon has moved into firey Sagittarius so this is a good time to get your heart beating, move with passion and preferably with your legs since Sag rules the thighs.... Tuesday is my pick for the week as Venus, the planet of what we value, squares Saturn discipline and work ethic...so if you value your health you’ll find it easier to commit today. Get your workout in before 7pm since after that the moon goes void of course which makes things more difficult to do. On Wednesday, the moon moves into the grounded earth sign of Capricorn. Strength and resistance based exercises will be easier to get done today and Thursday. Friday is hit or miss depending on how you are feeling. With the moon in Aquarius, the last of the air signs, fast, plyometric, HIIT workouts is my suggestion. If you have a good relationship with Saturnin themes like dispilen, consistency and work ethic, you could be ok. 22.01.2022 Let's talk about iron . If you caught my IG story on Saturday I shared a little bit about my challenges with iron over the last few months. I've been a Vegetarian for a while now and a few months back just wondered why I was so , having cleaned up my diet dramatically and started on a new fitness regime. I got my iron tested and sure enough it was well below the range. I committed to my greens , green juice, incorporated some meat back into my diet and started iron su...pplements. I stopped caffeine which, as a stimulant, could have been masking my true tiredness (more on that tomorrow). The strange thing is that my stores have dropped. So yes, I understand that meat and green leafy veg are great sources of iron but it's not always the answer. Like anything we need to look at absorption too, what's going on there? The other thing I believe is that health challenges are not ALWAYS linked back to nutrition. When I had acute eczema on my forearms, I followed the hardest elimination diet to a T and it wasn’t until I quit the job that was stressing me out (a job where I mostly used my forearms as a massage therapist) that the eczema radically cleared up . So let’s look at energy as we are all really just made up of vibration. I sense the correlation with mars retrograde. Mars is the iron planet, the warrior who likes to take action and move forward. Any wonder with his grumpy retrograde action could be playing into my iron challenges (among many others that I'm hearing of late). 2020 has been calling us to look outside the box, to think differently and do it differently. Astrology has shown this too and on Dec 21 Saturn and Jupiter align in the first degrees of Aquarius, a new phase. Aquarius speaks of the weirdo, the future thinker, the humanitarian, intellectual, the one before their time. Let's start to embrace that and bigger, crazier thoughts about how we can do things differently, that may not even make sense at first but ultimately is the truth that we feel. 21.01.2022 Do your workouts align with your menstrual cycle ? There is now more and more information and talk on the different phases of our cycle and the different energies, moods and feelings we experience as we move through them.but how do you apply that to your training? This all depends on your relationship to your cycle and your relationship to exercise. This is a balancing act especially in the premenstrual phase when energy starts to drop off and moods shift.... During this phase progesterone drops off dramatically. You may not be able to recover from training as well and may experience more muscle pain. It's hard to get motivated for that, right? However, this is a great time for aerobic exercise, less intense workouts and more rest days. Simply knowing that you may have poor coordination and reaction time. You may not be able to hit max lifts, won't have as much endurance and may feel worse in training compared to the first part of your cycle can help approach your workout. My tips of training during the premenstrual phase Be mindful of staying hydrated. Incorporate hand eye coordination and reaction drills. Don’t be so hard on yourself if you're not hitting your targets. What adjustments do you make to your training during this time?

19.01.2022 I've been talking a lot about moving with the moon lately and why it has such an impact on our bodies. So it makes sense that we take this into consideration when we move. Every 3 or so days the moon transits through a different sign which holds the energy of one of the 4 elements Air , Fire , Earth , Water . How would you move in relation to each element? Air represents speed, moving up and heat. Immediately I think of plyometric type exercises. You can also apply ...it to a single movement like a squat or push... make the upward motion fast while the downward motion is slow and controlled. Fire represents heat, passion and intensity. Choosing an activity that can raise the body temperature that we might really love, or something that gets our heart beat pumping. For me this is running, but this could be a HIIT workout, dancing or a different type of cardio activity. Water represents wet, depth and flow. Do you need to sweat? I'm thinking of a good resistance session for a particular area of the body, something that flows working deep into our muscles. Or quite literally getting in or one the water for a longer resistance workout. Earth represents fixed, grounding and density. What brings you stability? Hitting the gym with some heavy weights to build a solid foundation. Getting out onto a trail or the beach and going for a long walk. What's your workout of choice for each of the elements? 18.01.2022 How are you feeling this new moon energy? Although the energy can drop in a few days early, this did not happen for me. I found yesterday quite heavy and needed to ground and let go. Today Im starting to feel the fresh new energy drop in. Im feeling focused on my life and my work and engaged in the projects I am working on.... I'm a Sagittarius rising which means this new moon is happening in my 10th house of career and vocation...what am I becoming? 17.01.2022 How do you help your mind work for you? Mindset is a massive topic, and our minds are SO POWERFUL if we want them to be, they can also be so destructive if we let them. There can be so many things that we do or say or tell ourselves that we don't even realise are impacting us. To change this you need to first become aware, next, break the habit and then replace it with an empowering habit. ... To create new habits, I like to link them with old habits. For example, if I want to start an empowering affirmation practice, I'll link this to my meditation since this is already an established habit for me. On an astrological note, Mercury, that planet closely tied to mindset, is opposing Uranus, the planet of revolution, uniqueness, chaos and sudden change. A good time to ground into your empowering mindset habits. What's a new habit that you want to create and what established habit can you link it to?

17.01.2022 Sometimes it just feels like a never ending walk up dusty red sand dunes in the middle of the desert Anyone else been feeling this lately? The last few days I’ve been feeling flat as a tack . 2020 has been some big energy and it’s not over yet! Here’s my energy forecast for this week based on the moon phases and planet movements. The moon is waning down all week so this could be heavy energy. We start out the week with the last quarter moon in Leo. It almost feels cont...radictory with bold firey Leo asking us to bring the passion and heartbeat along side the slowing energy of the moon. Venus also opposes Mars perhaps leaving tension over this push pull dynamic of the feminine and the masculine. On Tuesday the moon moves into Virgo, Earth. Get your strength and core workout in before the energy shifts. On Wednesday, Mercury heads back into the watery Scorpio slowing any forward momentum you thought recently found. Thursday is my pick for the week with the moon in Libra, HIIT workouts, sprint workouts, get off your butt. On Friday we start to feel the energy of the dark moon, get your workout in before the weekend. Hooray on Saturday Mars stations direct, the beginning of some renewed energy (slowly!) 15.01.2022 Bright, Shiny Full Moon in Aries When the sky is clear you just can't miss the beautiful lunation of the full moon and no doubt you can feel her beautiful energy ...maybe even too much. This also signifies the energy is about to switch from an uprising to an internal softening. Aries rules the head, brain, eyes and the muscular system. Here are my suggestions for this full moon in Aries which is exact 2 October 7:05am... Mind - You may feel like you are going crazy right now and it would be great to tap into some positive psychology. Focus your mind on what feels good and get your brain to work for you rather than against you. Body - Give yourself the gift of a relaxing massage and one more step a scalp massage. TMJ (Temporomandibular joint - where the jaw is connected to scull) work would also go down well. At very least let your muscles unwind with the help of magnesium, salt bath or simply spray it over your body and allow it to soak in. Spirit - Connect back in with yourself, what is your vision, what are your desires, how do you experience freedom. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, closely related to self-discovery, perhaps this requires you being a little ‘selfish’ to uncover what ultimately is best for you. Happy Full moon.

13.01.2022 Discipline (this is my discipline face) - this word seems to be coming up for me a lot this year. Sometimes I roll my eyes but deep down I know it's the key to any success I have ever had. This year have really committed to my health. I now have a formula that's working for me. I love my workouts and the way I nourish myself. I ALWAYS feel amazing. Don't get me wrong, it's not always easy and I have had to train my mind to be disciplined so I can continue to create thi...s habit. When you start new things or change your mindset, it's easy to revert back to old habits. Your inner critic says things like ‘This won't work’ ‘It won't matter if I skip this workout’ or ‘I can't be bothered this time’ This is ok if it happens occasionally, however, when these thoughts start to happen often and and we continue to allow them, we are reverting back to the very ways we wanted to change in the first place. My tip is to think of your future self. Think about how you feel at the end of a workout, you never regret it. Or how you have felt in the past when you lashed out on greasy food...I can already feel the squirm in my stomach. Connect with the feel-good feelings that your future self will experience and wind your mind back in to create the disciplined practice that you initially set out on. 12.01.2022 Are you ready for the energy to shift? Tomorrow Mars stations direct? WTF does that mean Abby I’m hearing you say. Let me explain. On September 10 Mars started its retrograde. Appearing in the sky as if the hot red planet was moving backwards.... The Mars archetype is almost the opposite of backwards. Representing the divine masculine, forward momentum, the warrior, energy, anger, aggression, movement and sexual desire. Have you felt those areas of your life take a back seat? 11.01.2022 Lunar energy updates for the week ahead The start of the week we will be moving through the waxing gibbous phase in Aquarius and Pisces, such a beautiful rising of energy as the moon becomes brighter and brighter and more energizing. With the full moon on Friday in Aries , this is the fullest, brightest expression of the moon happening in the first sign of the zodiac! Cool!... Kicking off the with the full moon lunar eclipse in Gemini is likely to be an overstimulation of energy. If you're picking a rest day for the week this would be it, otherwise, tone it down and up the self care for today. 09.01.2022 Here’s my rundown on the lunar and astro energies and how you can best align your energy, movement, workouts and training schedules this week. Starting out the week with the moon in the last of the water signs... Pisces . This is a time to ensure you're getting your taking care of your body and stretching well. Like me, if you find it hard to get in the 30min yoga practice, the energies are in your favour to start this practice this week. With the weather warming up (sou...th of the equator) another good option would be to get to your local pool and cut some laps, be supported by the water and lengthen out your muscles. By Wednesday we have a bit more action with the moon moving into Aries, igniting fresh starts, passion, sparks and fire in the belly. Getting your cardio on today will be your best bet. Get your heart pumping doing something you love. Im opting for leg day, although its a strength session, its the one that always gets my heart going! Thursday will be the pick of the week so make sure you prioritse this day to sweat! Along with the moon in Aries, shes also aligning with Mars who is no longer retrograde. Mars is the planet that helps you move, exercise, work your muscles and take action towards your goals. Don’t Miss your workout today as your going to feel great. 07.01.2022 What happens to your workout when your plans change? Maybe your schedule has been thrown out the window or you have decided to take a short trip, often your workout is the first thing to slip. If you want to maintain your consistency there are a few things to do to get your head in the right space. Do something - Sometimes when we can't do exactly the workout we had planned, we just decide not to do anything at all. If you cant do your regular workout maybe you can get ...out for a run or create a sequence of body strength activities...push-ups, squats, burpees, dips, lunges? Something is always better than nothing Plan ahead - if you know your heading into a crazy time or a trip, plan how your workouts will fit in around this, do you need to take some equipment with you, get up early or tell those you are staying with what you will be doing. Get your head around it - rather than talking yourself out of it, talk yourself into it. 05.01.2022 There is so much more than your sun sign. We have ALL the signs in us, it's just that some are more activated than others. Let's take a step further and look at the big 3. Sun, Moon and Rising signs. I like to say this. Your SUN sign is where you shine, you true soul in this lifetime. Your true identity and where your gifts can lie. Once you can harness the qualities of your sun sign, you will shine. But it’s not the ONLY qualities and gifts you hav...e. Let's look at the RISING sign. 03.01.2022 2 months off caffeine today. For a while now, I've been wanting to see what would happen if I stopped having caffeine. I wanted to sleep better . I'm not a coffee drinker and I was only having the equivalent of one sometimes two coffee a day in a natural energy drink, caffeine sourced from green tea and yerba mate. I decided to align this with the astrological event of Mars retrograde. The Mars energy is associated with action, forward momentum, the warrior which is s...imilar to that of caffeine. When in retrograde motion, these energies are louder and not so happy to be ‘going backwards.’ So I went cold turkey on the caffeine. Here's the results I've noticed. First off, I did start having better sleep. No longer am I waking up at 2am not being able to get back to sleep. Hooray! My cycle health has improved, the low moods are not as low and the low energy is not as low and I knew this would happen as caffeine, especially in the luteal phase has a big impact on the phases that follow. I can feel my energy is not being stimulated and instead it's naturally flowing. Which was one thing I wanted to reconnect with. I also think because of this point above it highlighted my lack of iron as I spoke about yesterday. If you're constantly stimulating your system, you can be suppressing the underlying issue. I wanted to give it up for 2 months and honestly the time has flown by. I plan to stay off caffeine at least until 14 November when Mars stations direct and start moving forward. When I start introducing it again, I'll only have it when I really need the effects and certainly avoid it during certain times of my cycle. My energy shots are filled with epic adaptogens too so they serve a great purpose when needed. 02.01.2022 Today was leg day and the moon moved from earth energy of Capricorn to air energy Aquarius around 4pm. I caught the earth energy and grounded in with my 2nd leg session for the week and it was perfect. Working out my legs helps me to stay grounded and brings me stability. 01.01.2022 I've talked a lot about mindset this week. I'm so passionate about this topic because I know how powerful it can be when you commit to making changes in your mind. When I was 17, I undertook a 6-week Neuro-Linguistic Programming course completely designed to accomplish my sporting goals. I choose my goal and every day (alongside my physical training) I completed my ‘mental’ training program as well. At the end of the 6 weeks, I felt unstoppable, there was no shadow of a ...doubt in my mind that I would accomplish my goal, that's how good it felt and I did. I won the Australian Championship in the beach flags event, an event that I had won in my mind before I even got to the start line. It took a lot of consistent discipline to show up each day for my mental training program. I had to unpack my unconscious beliefs and reprogram them and cement my goal every single day. Sometimes my sessions would last for 5min, 30min or 1min every hour of the day. The mindset shift and transformation was one of the most empowering things I have ever done and taught me how powerful our minds can be if we use them to our advantage. At the start of the week, I talked about discipline and Saturn turning direct. Today Pluto turns direct after being retrograde since late April. His themes of the unconscious, power, transformation and healing maybe have been slightly muted during this time, but that energy shifts today. Last night I walked along the river trail with some friends, we looked at the sky, star gazed and admired the brilliant bold shining full moon in Taurus. At the end of the trail we each read a beautiful affirmation and then walked back watching the clouds make shapes in the sky. It was such a lush evening. Wondering how the energies of the week play out?... On Monday the moon moves into Gemini a great time to get into your HIIT workouts. 01.01.2022 It's been one month off caffeine today! Let me explainthis year I’ve been taking my health to the next level. After getting rid of refined sugars, gluten, most dairy and really scaling things back to basics I realised that the one thing that was troubling me was my sleep and naturally aligning with my circadian rhythm. The circadian rhythm is a natural wake/sleep cycle occurring in the body that correlates with the rotation of earth and its sunlight hours. So I did a f...ew things I stopped caffeine Brought blue light blocking glasses And toned down screen time before going to sleep It's been a great practice that has come with its challenges. I always want to reach for one of my energy shots just after lunch, but instead I now look for water. WHY? Because I knew that caffeine was interrupting my sleep, I was waking up at 2-3-4am in the morning with a racing mind, not being able to get back to sleep and now I sleep the entire night through. The blue blockers have helped too as my eyes feel much more relaxed and not having to strain when looking at the screen, even if I do sneak in some screen time an hour before bed. SO many people say that they cant give up caffeine, which is completely fine, if its not causing any issues (which there can be a lot) then there is no need to give it up. If you are sensitive, however, I urge that you can do it. Relying on your body's natural energy can really boost your radiance and vibrancy once you truly tap into it. Are you sensitive to caffeine?
