The real antidote is strengthening our courage and willingness to tread towards our fear if what we fear is standing in the way of what we desire. As weve seen in countless memes lately most of not ALL of us struggle with motivation. ______________ The reason is that motivation isnt linked to how much we desire to do something but how likely we believe that effort or activity will be successful. So if we really want to exercise but find that our motivation is lacking when it comes to actually doing the exercise, PAUSE. What are y...ou currently saying to yourself about it? If your self talk includes things like I just cant do this right now or I wont get through it, Im too tired then your brain-body is designed to stop you from approaching that activity by producing RESISTANCE. _____________ Try reflecting on how you are taking to yourself at the moment you need to start the activity. Are you think Im g about the difficulty or the potential reward of completion? Are you potentially catastrophising how difficult it is? ________________ Dopamine, the reward neurotransmitter, will be released when we successfully complete and accomplish our goals. It is up to us to frame and define what success will look like. Rather than focusing on the outcome, start to tag your efforts as successful simply when you show up and participate. 18.01.2022 Even though its a period of uncertainty and fear, many of us are also starting to experience the joy of flow. ___________ Flow comes when we move between one activity and the other easily without the drive of cortisol. ____________ In this state we are able to simply enjoy without stress, savour experiences and be fully connected with our present moment experience without the interruption of what comes next. Now that we cannot chase big ticket excitements or experiences we are ready to fully appreciate the present moment, savouring it and connecting with it. This is at the core the beginning of mindful present living.

07.01.2022 SAVOURING As I’m preparing for the Pillars of Happiness Course, I’ve been finding I’m using this strategy so many times during the day. . When you notice a feeling of pleasure, or something that feels good, a moment of happiness, rather than just allowing the moment to pass, pause and take note mindfully of the moment. Allowing the moment to sink deeper within your experience field. ... Ask yourself to intentionally come back to that experience throughout your day. Perhaps even make a point of sharing it with others. Do you’ve st wonder how crazy it is that we never think twice about sharing minor inconveniences or annoyances that happen during our day but seem to not even recall or remember or feel timid about sharing a moment of happiness or bliss as you took in the day’s first coffee, or smelled the season’s first blooms of Jasmine. Try this Savouring strategy for at least a week.

Remember that whats ...most important is keeping everybody engaged, intellectually stimulated and connected. Id avoid trying to make sure our children are learning just as much as at school. Use the opportunity to create memories of engagement, safeness, warmth and connectedness. Theyll remember this time for the rest of their lives. Create memories youd be proud of them having. Use the schoolwork as a guide to structure some routine and flow in their day, and yours.

05.01.2022 What matters most right now? Is it making sure your linen cupboard is tidy and ready for the mum inspection? Or perhaps its about engaging your time in ways that help you to feel productive and focused, without the need for accomplishment. We are often driven with this need and desire to finish. To be done. This drives our activity with cortisol - the stress hormone. The reality is that we can attend to our tasks without the cortisol by tuning in to them not as things ...that we need to get rid of but as the process of living. __________ We will never be finished or done. No matter how much we get through, there will be more soon enough. And even if we did finish .... then what? ____________ Be flexible and rather than setting the completion of a task as a goal, set aside a specific time limit - like 2 hours - and when youve applied yourself for that length of time you are complete. Time limits do not require cortisol to assist us. Why? Because we know time passes without our help. _____________ For this homeschooling - What Matters Most! 03.01.2022 Strong doesnt mean unfeeling. As @brenebrown has been shouting from the rooftops, being vulnerable, experiencing all our emotions of hopelessness, fatigue, frustration, impatience, doesnt make us weak. In fact true strength can only be defined as the load we raise upon our shoulders while we move forward as opposed to the load we ignore or deny or keep trying to get rid of. Be STRONG. Be kinder to the feelings and experiences that show up - dont judge - you havent chosen any of these. You can choose to stay open though, to gently explore the origins, to accept what is not within our power to change and to reward ourselves for doing so.

I’ve been digesting a lot of fair and unfair criticism lately and it’s been a good way of experiencing the pull towards shame and the pull towards wise action, forgiveness and wisdom. Self criticism is so tough and working to alleviate it’s sting is hard. Criticism that come from others has its own weight and challenges too. How do we hold space for these opinions as well as for ourselves? Cultivating perspective that is wider than its been before, taller and deeper cuts through blame and gives every thing it’s proper place. Seeing better. Sending love to self and others.
