24.01.2022 Be a wise consumer when walking through the isles of the supermarket. . Walking outside the isles usually means you are grabbing those fruit and veg which is always the best choice. When grabbing those boxes, look at the labels and read them carefully. You will usually see the bigger Marco nutrition groups listed:... Protein, fat, carbs, fibre, sodium etc some items will have some vitamins/minerals listed in there too, and of course, energy for calorie counting purposes. If you want to stay safe, follow this guide below for total values. This guide relates to a qty of 100 gr so when looking at the package make sure it is the 100 gr column you are looking at. Total fat- Less than 3 gr will be a best choice Saturated fat- Less than 1.5 gr will be a best choice Sugar- Less than 5 gr Sodium (Salt) - Less than 120 mg Fibre- Choose high fibre. 23.01.2022 Humbled with 300 new followers in the last 2 weeks, so I thought I’ll stop by and say helloooo! My name is Orit Tsaban, founder and creator of The Wellness Hubb. (Help Us Be Better). I answer to ‘mum, where is the’ by 3 teenage boys (18,16,14) all taller than me and incredible humans, and married to Kobi- aka Don Corleone.... Born and raised in Israel, I consider myself multi-ethnic and multi-cultural and ‘of-colour’ since I’m a real mix. I am a sucker for piano, (I cry when I hear it play), I love coffee, and I love travelling and meeting new people is totally my jam. Below my 4th soulmate, Simba . I have been living and happily embracing life in Australia for the past 13 years and loving it. But this wasn’t always the case. It has been such a wild ride which took a big toll on my health affecting everything from my relationships down to my physical and emotional health. I am a certified health coach and I specialise in emotional eating. I have helped many educated, motivated people eat healthier, gain back their health only to find out after a certain period of time, they were not able to sustain the results. Good nutritional advice exists for decades now and I came to realise the world doesn’t need more of that, although it’s always great to be educated. Overcoming my own diet-binge cycle was an understanding that without addressing the connection between mind-body-soul true sustained health isn’t achievable. 17.01.2022 Whats holding you back girlfriend? I come across this all the time; ppl I meet up with, work with, sooo many of us have limiting beliefs about ourselves..we create stories and they stay with us for a long time, they become our identity.. eventually. We really need to change and rewire some of those thought patterns. Thing is, this fear creating the negative talk may become addictive too because we rely on fear to keep us safe. ... Maybe Im not good enough, I might not be smart enough, maybe I shouldnt, what would ppl say about me.. what if I dont have enough will power, you get the pic... it just goes and goes and goes.. of course this is complete BS . We must put in the work to get over that we MUST believe to achieve. We need to have faith in the process and in ourselves. Perseverance faith and self love. . Most people think they dont have the will power to eat healthy. They think eating healthy is expensive. Well Im here to call BS on that! If anything healthy eating is easier, quicker and done right,not at all more expensive . I love my job because I get to show ppl how easy it can be and when you find the food you love its so yummy too. It is really SIMPLE! . If you want to grow, if you want to change, do the work, change that mindset, Dont hold back, BELIEVE you can and you will. Mindset is almost everything and the hardest thing to change. This plant antioxidant has been associated with improved blood markers of liver health. Just be mindful of green tea extract as it can have a negative effect. ... 11.01.2022 Yes I am part of the statistics when it comes to low iron in women in Australia iron deficiency is still the most common nutritional deficiency in Australia, especially among children and women of childbearing age where it can lead to iron-deficiency anaemia. High-risk groups include menstruating women, pregnant women, babies and toddlers, teenage girls and female athletes... About a year ago I had an iron transfusion, not the most pleasant experience to say the least, after which dr prescribed a quarterly routine blood test to stay on top of it. She also prescribed iron tablets... Which... I didnt take. My supplementation comes from food and whole food concentrates. I have 6! (Yes 6) cups of spinach a day and 2 tsp of spirulina in my smoothie. I still check my blood every quarter and my results are spot on. Do you suffer any mineral deficiency? 09.01.2022 Out of sight out of mind! Its hard to be mindful of things we cant see, touch or feel. I mean its only normal right? We cant see our internal organs and so we dont really THINK about whats really happening to them when we consume food.... On a philosophical level, imagine our body was actually transparent lol, and we can see what was going on, on the inside. I am sure, we wouldnt have been spending so much time and money on how we look but more so on how we FEEL from the inside out. Take the liver for ex. I mean its just amazing to think about its function in our body mainly filtering and removing toxins and waste and excess substances while retaining essential nutrients (among other). When the liver helps us detoxify, it does so in 2 stages. For stage/phase 1 we need: B2, B3, B6, Folate, B12, copper, magnesium, zinc, vit C, iron, vegetables such as broccoli, kale, brussel sprouts, cabbage. For phase 2 we need: B vitamines, same veg as above, citrus fruit, protein, vitamin C, magnesium and selenium. Thats also the reason, counting calories isnt good enough! 09.01.2022 The rain in Perth is finally here, and its not at all cold but really made me feel like whipping up a curry dish today .. Looking forward to some winter down under, so over the heat This is a dish I tried for the first time today and I love it.. well see what the customers have to say when they come back from school Prep time 20 min. EASY as just vegetables with yummy sauce. Chic peas as well for protein and coconut milk for yummy fat balance see below for deets:... in a wide low pan fry onion lightly add yr spices. I used paprika, turmeric, Garam masala and salt. Stir until fragrant Add grated ginger, garlic, cinnamon and bay leaf , stir again. Add a splash of vegetable stock (I make my own, once a month its sits in the fridge I use it for so many dishes) and a bit of water. Add 1/2 pumpkin diced, 1 aubergine diced and a can of chick pease. Mix it well to be covered with the spices Add one can of coconut milk and top up with water if you feel the veggies need to be submerged in more liquid Simmer for 20-30 min Add frozen spinach or fresh if you can and cook until spinach has wilted mix it in. taste for seasoning. Are you counting your iron, folate, vitamin d, vitamin a, calcium and fibre? just to name a few. ... Lots of apps out there to help you do that. My fitness Pal Loseit Sparkpeople Cronometer When setting it up make sure you set it to match your macronutrient goal (more energy, weight loss or whatever that may be) and override the default settings. 05.01.2022 For years I was super shy to be walking around in a bikini. I was worried about what others thought of me... Ive come to realise now that I am so comfortable now with my cellulite tummy . Yes so far from perfect but Im comfortable with that now and thats what matters. So now I wear a bikini all the time and that so cool. A weight has been lifted. Comparison made me miserable. I practice mindfulness every day. Im grateful, Im engaging with daily rituals that mak...e me feel happy. Being in the ocean is one of them. Even a 10 minute ritual if I dont have time, as long as it makes me feel happy, aligned and comfortable. . Mindfulness is a core pillar in my 16 weeks to wellness program. It is one of 4 core pillars in the program and it makes me happy to see how this shift of mindset helps so many women every time. . 02.01.2022 Experimenting day. I love creating healthy desserts when I know they are GF, processed sugar free, DF and mostly guilt free. But not only are the guilt free but also have ingredients that are nutrient dense. Heaven on the tongue! 01.01.2022 Sometimes I find myself sitting for hours on the computer So Ive created an alarm on my phone (for every hour) to get up and move :). But to make it fun, Ive put a fun msg in my reminder with a positive vibe like 2020 is my year or a reminder about something I am grateful for, my favourite one is simply and bluntly MOVE I might do star jumps, take the dog for a 10 min walk, or just have a bit of a dance (cause thats what you do when you work from home, he he). I... must tell you, I really have to force myself to do that because Im focused when Im on my screen BUT, doing that jump, lap or dance brings me back with even greater focus. Also really helps with build up stress and productivity. Sitting is the new smoking. Dont be sedentary. Being sedentary increases the risk of the 4 major killers: Obesity, Diabetes, Cancer, Cardiovascular. Thanks @raw_food_girl for coming up with this beautiful recipe to add to the hundreds of recipes we already have in the collection. THIS kind of snacking is what helped me with reducing sugar intake for my kids. In fact, processes sugar is not something they crave anymore! It just taste...s too . - 1 cup raw cashews - 1/2 cup ground flax seeds - 1/2 cup sesame seeds - 1 serving chocolate Complete plant protein - 1/4 cup pure maple syrup - 1/4 dairy free chocolate chips - Pinch of sea salt - 2 Tbsp dairy free chocolate chips, extra. 1. In a good processor, blend the cashews, flax seeds and sesame seeds until finely ground. 2. Add the remaining ingredients (except for the extra choc chips), and process until the mixture forms a soft dough. 3. Roll the mixture into balls and flatten with your palm, to form small cookies. Press a few extra chocolate chips into the top of the cookies. 4. Freeze until firm. 01.01.2022 Why I swapped coffee for celery juice in the morning So guys, when I was a teenager, my addiction was coffee seriously. My mum was shoving it in every front and back door, but hey no one is perfect. . Truth be told, coffee is an adrenaline and cortisol stimulant. Those 2 hormones really interfere with digestion because they affect yr nerve system that affects our digestive system .. I know its all connected... our body is fascinating. In addition it really e...xerts youre adrenal glass if you have too much of it. Celery juice first thing in the AM helps yr stomach produce hydrochloric acid and that acid is important and signals to your brain digestion So combining the elimination of one and introducing the other is a win win when it comes to losing weight!!
