25.01.2022 Just made this Paleo birthday cake for Timmy's 1st birthday. Paleo (gluten free dairy free) but loaded with coconut sugar (probably too much sugar for the little guy to have any but everyone else will enjoy it!) got the recipe from here: https://downshiftology.com/recipes/paleo-chocolate-cake/

24.01.2022 Early morning winter gardening with my little helper I used to prefer the warmer months and chase the sun these days I welcome the change of seasons and embrace the slow rhythm of winter, rugging up with my little toddler and breathing in the cool air

24.01.2022 3 babies all 1 pregnancy apart Let me introduce you to some of the strongest mummas I know and lucky enough to call neighbours. When @rosie_doula (right) was out walking one evening to bring on labour I was out walking too (just retuned from my honeymoon), I was 1 week pregnant at the time. It was a special bond right from the start and a strong knowingness that we were sisters in a past lifetime and here to support each other in motherhood in this life. A couple of days... later she birthed James into the world. 9 beautiful months later I birthed Timmy and Rosie was there with me as I knew she wanted to become a doula and I also had @nestbirthwellbeing as my doula. Rosie became qualified shortly after and supported her beautiful little sister Elka (left) birth baby Amarlia exactly 9 months after me. The divine timing of it all is quite incredible All 3 of us had empowering unmedicated natural births free of intervention and are not afraid to tell our stories. We are all wildly passionate about empowering women about their bodies and taking back control when it comes to health, happiness and birthing. There needs to be more positive birth stories out there to crowd out the not-so-postitive ones. Together we can dissolve the fear and unknown about birthing, through education and sharing stories. . . I recommend reaching out to Doulas Dr Amanda Chow at Nest Birth & Wellbeing or Rosie to help you on your birthing journey. See more

23.01.2022 Our home made treats for our paleo baby's 1st birthday party. @drbretthill made healthy tomato sauce and I made a paleo chocolate cake and gelatin gummies, nut balls and nut-free bliss balls #glutenfree #dairyfree #notsugarfree #paleotreats #1stbirthdayhealthyfood #partytime #paleokid

19.01.2022 Organic paleo mulberry plum crumble Mum and I picked and stewed the fruit from our trees, then I made up a topping (almonds, sunflower seeds, vanilla essence, honey, walnuts, dessicated coconut, coconut oil). Bake and serve with coconut cream. Bubba loved it so much he managed to not get any mulberry stains on his white teeshirt. Tastes so good definitely one for my future cook book #glutenfree #dairyfree #paleo #primal #jerf #healthydessert #homegrown

19.01.2022 You know a kid is up to no good when they go quiet (usually!)... last night I found my baby sneaking in some extra veggies before dinner gotta love this paleo kid. We have an open kitchen in our household - the kids can grab whatever they like whenever they want because we only stock healthy paleo food anyway the funny thing is Tom (11) and Charlotte (9) politely always ask us first and usually they simply request a piece of fruit, nuts or jerky. We fill them up at meal t...imes with healthy fats and protein that keeps hunger at bay. Also my husband has written a book on how to get kids to eat healthy- called Nourish without Nagging by Dr Brett Hill a shameless plug but this stuff really works. Oh and I am much happier with him sneaking into the fridge for a snack rather than last week when he stuck into the bathroom and ate the toilet paper. See more

07.01.2022 The beautiful Amanda from @nestbirthwellbeing was our doula for Timmy's birth and we highly recommend her I was drawn to Amanda because I am a qualified yoga teacher and my husband @drbretthill is a chiropractor (and Amanda is both). Our health philosophies aligned so well and she embodies everything that we are about. I attended all of Amanda's prenatal yoga classes to prepare baby to be in optimal foetal positioning, practised her yoga teachings everyday at home, aswell ...as attending her private Active Birth Workshop as a couple where she informed us of every detail about the birth process, our rights, our choices and what to expect. We got a significant amount of manuals to keep. We love that Amanda is a Chiropractor and brings that philosophy into everything that she teaches, truly empowering the woman (and couple) to be excited for the birth they want. For us, a non-medicated natural birth was our dream and with Amandas guidance and knowledge I was able to prepare and manage a drug-free intervention-free birth using just my breath, yoga and Amanda's beautiful affirmations, massages and compresses. It was truly the most beautiful raw and amazing experience of my life and I am forever grateful to Amanda. . #Repost @nestbirthwellbeing As a doula, there are some births that just stay with you. And this one is one of those. It was over a year ago and I think of the experience often. My clients have beautiful births and this was no exception. They prepared and practiced and were really ready for their birth. They knew how birth unfolds, what their options were and how to ask for them. Her partner knew how to support her and they worked so well as a team. It was an honour to be a part of it. If you would like to prepare for a beautiful birth then reach out to chat about how I can support you. I teach Active Birth Workshops (which this couple attended and loved), I offer doula support to a select few clients a year and I will be opening up the Nest Birth Collective in March - an online membership group for Doula support and birth preparation with all my resources available to members. Visit my website to see what feel right for you. much Love, Amanda
