24.01.2022 Are you looking after your body the way you should be?

16.01.2022 Just for today, try to FOCUS on and be PROACTIVE with what is in your circle of INFLUENCE This could be - Cooking a nice, healthy meal... Supporting someone in your local community Not listening to the news all day Staying well hydrated Less time on social media Phoning a friend you haven’t chatted to Enjoying some slow family time Resting Getting creative Sitting in your garden Washing your hands What else do you think is in YOUR circle of influence right now? Share below and spread some love

15.01.2022 You don’t have to be a perfect parent, you can be ‘good enough’ and your kids will love you for it.

13.01.2022 Are your children asking a lot of questions about the Covid situation? Kids are naturally very curious and will want to know and understand the changes that are happening around them. So, what can you do to help? ... Make sure they feel SAFE with you and at home, always. This is the number 1 priority! Answer all their questions - be clear, honest and concise. Don’t just assume they’re anxious, they might just want to know what is happening so they can understand more. Watch your language and the conversations you have around them. Keep as much familiarity in their daily routine and home life as possible. Give them some control and choices during the day Try to focus on the positives of this home time and make the most of it

12.01.2022 A longer recess with more movement allows for - 1. More creative play 2. Social-emotional development 3. Physical regulation ... This means that children arrive back to the classroom more settled, organised and ready to learn, rather than hyped up and scattered.

12.01.2022 Happy Saturday everyone How are you speaking to yourself today?

11.01.2022 I love listening to Jess from Natural Super Kids on Tuesday evenings She always shares such practical information and tips for busy mums. Every Tuesday Jess discusses a new and relevant health topic on a facebook live video so you can tune in and listen at a time that suits you best. This week was all on GUT HEALTH and FUSSY EATING. ... Next week will be GUT HEALTH and BEHAVIOUR, such an important area where lots of research is happening! See more

11.01.2022 It’s back to school time! Let’s remember to try keep things slow, calm and easy for our kids this term. We can aim to do this in small ways, every day >> ... Try not to over schedule them after school Limit screen time, especially 2 hours before bed Make sure they’re getting lots of GREEN time, which is time outdoors, moving and playing Keep their diet clean and simple by prioritising REAL food. Make sure they’re getting enough protein and good fats at every meal and having a good quality snack after school Allow them some downtime after school, some time to process and unwind with unstructured play Prioritise early nights, boundaries and a healthy bedtime routine How do you like to keep things calm in your house during the school term? Share with us below

11.01.2022 5 ways to help calm an overprotective brain - Sometimes the back of our brain - our survival and emotional brain - is working a bit too hard to keep us safe, the volume is turned up a little too high This makes it difficult for us to think properly, process information and make decisions So what can we do - ... 1. BREATHE deeply in to your belly - extend your out breath. This calms your nervous system and slows your thinking. 2. Put your hand over your whole forehead This helps to bring energy and blood to your front brain (where we think, perceive, process and make decisions) 3. Ask yourself- is what I am thinking or worrying about true and is it helpful to me? The answer is probably no so start to change the channel on your thinking. 4. Take a break - walk outside in to green space and have a glass of water 5. Make sure that you’ve eaten something healthy and your blood sugar isn’t too low or too highAvoid sugary processed food - swinging blood sugar swinging moods.

10.01.2022 A little reminder to all the parents who have been thrown in to home schooling this week

09.01.2022 I am seeing this everyday with the children I work with as well as the teachers that I see as clients and those I’ve worked with in schools. Something needs to change in the education system, some children are not coping. Have you noticed this with your own children or in the schools?

09.01.2022 Happy Friday everyone

06.01.2022 A little reminder for the week ahead

03.01.2022 There’s a baby on the way, this May! I am currently on maternity leave until further notice and will not be taking any bookings at this time. Please follow me on instagram @thewellnessweb to keep up to date with the details of my return.

02.01.2022 Some environments can be so overwhelming for children - the noise, the people, the lighting, the demands! They tend to communicate this overwhelm through their behaviour. When we recognise this, we can start to understand their needs better and understand their comfort level in different environments

02.01.2022 Create some balance for yourself this weekend

01.01.2022 We might not want to or we might not like it but we have to ADAPT, as best we can to the new environment that we find ourselves in So, what are some ways that you can try to adapt? Go with the flow, wherever possible ... Let go of the small stuff Stop comparing Spend less time on your phone Accept the things that you have no control over Focus on solutions Be aware of what you’re grateful for Appreciate the small things Get comfortable with slower days Be mindful of your time and how you’re spending it This won’t last forever, things will change, as they always do Happy Thursday everyone xx

01.01.2022 After much thought and consideration, I have made the decision to close my practise earlier than planned under the current circumstances. I will be starting maternity leave from this week, slowing down and resting as much as possible before Baby Hersky arrives Please keep in touch, stay connected and look after yourselves and your family, always
