19.01.2022 Sacred Disenchantment. Disenchantment may seem like a strange opening topic for a blog about events and ceremonies However, I believe disenchantment can be a sacred opening. ... A doorway that can lead you into a place you may not ordinarily have gone. I often hear people speaking about the reasons they dislike certain ceremonies, symbols and rituals. Why should women have to wear a white dress? It’s such an outdated custom. I want to mark my new baby’s arrival with a special ceremony, but I’m not religious. Weddings are such a waste of money. People are becoming increasingly disenchanted with the ‘way things are’. Something shifts though, when you let your disenchantment be your invitation. When you feel frustration, unrest, dissatisfactionlean in and get curious. We often discover our why, when we become aware of our why not. We often happen across our deepest values, when we walk away from what breaks us down. When we move away from something, we soon realise we are on our way to somewhere else. So, as you take note of what makes you weary and frustrated, may you begin to engage with your most authentic desires. What enchants you? What makes you smile? What will you enjoy remembering about your event? Whether it is an up-cycled wedding, a reimagined baby ceremony, or an intimate elopement in your very favourite pants Let your disenchantment be your sacred opening into a realm of possibilities. We’ll be spending the week putting the final touches on our website, and hole punching as many leaves as we can find for confetti! 12.01.2022 Hi there! We’re Lysette (Celebrant) and Jarrod (Camera Guy), the team behind Whimsical! We are just a couple of days away from our launch and we want to give something back to the people who are curious about our work...... So in the lead up to Sunday’s launch, we are running a giveaway that is going to have TWO lucky recipients! The first gift is a Village Ceremony facilitated by me. A Village Ceremony is a new baby ceremony that replaces a Baby Naming. It’s a space where we acknowledge the village that surrounds you and your family and welcome your new baby into it!
