24.01.2022 CAUSES OF LOW BLOOD SUGAR LEVELS 1. You’ve eaten more carbohydrates than your body can tolerate Because after a good ol carb feeding, comes the big ol crash. What goes up, must come down. ... 2. You’ve not eaten enough carbohydrates for your needs The inverse of the above. If you don’t eat enough carbohydrates, your blood sugar levels won’t rise to where you need them to be for you to feel stable. 3. You’re not eating enough This is incredibly common and often a driver behind other health related problems i.e slow thyroid function, menstrual irregularities etc... And it's not just carbs. If you’re not eating enough food overall if you’re dieting, restricting or starving yourself from food, your blood sugar will not be able to stabilise and you’ll put your body into a state of stress (see below). This also includes SKIPPING MEALS. 4. You’re stressed Your liver liberates sugar into your blood stream, in response to stress. Again what goes up, must come down. Enter the crash. 5. Eating too far from bedtime Your blood sugar will drop in the middle of the night if you eat an inadequately balanced meal or eat too far away from going to bed, potentially causing you to wake up in the middle of the night. 6. Exercise Pumping iron is going to use up energy in your body. If you’re not putting food (energy) back in and re-balancing your blood sugar after a workout, your levels will drop and you’ll feel the symptoms. We all know the feelings of low blood sugar hangry anyone? Repeatedly doing the rounds with lows / crashes in blood sugar will not only leave you feeling irritated, anxious, light headed & super f@$king hungry (that’s your body telling you it needs food to stay alive), it’s also pretty dangerous if it drops too low, for too long. Balancing your blood sugar is KEY to achieving optimal health & body composition. . . I teach Women how to reclaim their health & create the body they want, from the inside - out. 19.01.2022 My gorgeous friend & fellow Coach Gemma from Elevate with Gem joined me for a beautifully candid chat on my IGTV back in December. In my experience, most of the clients i have worked with over the years, myself included have struggled in some aspect, in varying degrees, with their relationship to food. Gemma spoke honestly & openly about her experience with an eating disorder & I'm honoured she agreed to come & chat with me & share some of her wisdom ... 09.01.2022 Are animal fats really to blame? Or could it be the introduction of vegetable oils, sugar and processed foods into the human food chain, potentially causing all of our health problems? For YEARS, we've had the absolute bejesus frightened out of us, with regards to dietary cholesterol and the demonising of animal fats. ... So let's take a look at some facts: . . The selling of hydrogenated fats (total sh!t, masquerading as "food"), began in 1912, off the back of the soap industry and a few people trying to find a way to 'boost' the use of cotton seed oil - the WASTE left over from cotton seed farming. Yes, you read that right - waste. What was total f!*king garbage, and unfit for human consumption, somehow became food. (money?) . . Research by Sally Fallon and Mary Enig shows that from 1910-1970 the proportion of traditional animal fats eaten in the American diet actually DECLINED from 83% to 62%. (clever marketing by previous soap people) Alongside that, butter consumption WENT DOWN from eighteen pounds per person, per year, to just four pounds. And that during the past eighty years, dietary cholesterol intake only increased by 1%. YET - during that SAME PERIOD of time, the percentage of: VEGETABLE OILS (in the form of margarine, shortening and refined oils) INCREASED by about 400% AND The consumption of SUGAR and PROCESSED foods increased by about 60%. (Fallon and Enig. "The Skinny on Fats". www.westonaprice.org) Interestingly, the existence of coronary heart disease during this time, went from rare to have (pre 1920), to the LEADING CAUSE OF DEATH by the mid 50's. And not much has changed with those statistics since then. . . Of course, the source of our animal produce matters - go organic, grass-fed, wild caught where ever possible. But, if cholesterol rich animal foods are so bad for us, how did groups of our ancestors survive on as much as 80% of their overall daily intake of food coming from fat, (the majority being animal fat)...without a clogged artery in sight?

07.01.2022 Do you even know how wise you really are? You've become so detached from your body, you don't even trust you can reach genuine health and well-being anymore. Disconnection is killing you. ... Your Mind. Body. & Soul. . . . If the only thing you learn to do, is develop a relationship with your own body... You'll unlock all the wisdom and all the answers you're so desperately looking for. Because it already lives within every part of your being. . . . Do that and you'll never get stuck living a life that compromises you. First, come to know Self, and the rest will follow. &
