18.01.2022 This week, we take at look at your most Frequently Asked Questions! First up.. What if Ive read the book youve sent me? So actually, this has only happened once! Im sure it will happen again, but heres a few of the steps we take to minimise doubles on your bookshelves. We tend not to send out mass market or the most popular book club titles, we figure youll find them yourselves! ... The questions in the reader survey at checkout give us a pretty great idea of how much you read, and if youre a big reader, we try and send more obscure titles your way. We also have a knack for sending out books you may have not thought to pick up, but by looking at the answers you give us, we have a good idea youll be interested in them. Lastly, we ask for a peak at your GoodReads or Insta profile, if recording your reading journey that way is your kinda thing. If you do get something youve read, we ask that you pass it on to a book loving friend, donate it to a street library, just basically let someone else enjoy it! In the week leading up to our cut of date for the month (the 24th) we post stacks of lovely books on our socials. Have a browse, and if theres something youd love to read, let us know! If youre looking for something in particular but dont see if, just ask! We dont post all our titles so theres still an element of surprise, or we may be able to hunt it down for you if we dont have it in our reserves. Also you can update your preferences in your customer account, so you can change the genres of books youd like, or leave us a message there if youre after particular authors or titles. Just keep in mind we start matching books on the 24th of the month, so try and get in contact with us before then! And if theres anything else we can do to help you out, bookwise, send us a message and ask! We love contented readers!!

11.01.2022 Whats everyone reading this weekend? Im going with an Australian theme. Ive absolutely binged this Garry Disher rural noir, its both beautifully written and a tight thriller! Definitely must for fans of Australian crime writing. Next Im moving on to Perservation, Ive had this on my shelf for a while and this weekend its getting its chance.

09.01.2022 Reading in bed when the weather is dreadful is one of lifes greatest pleasures! Heres what Im curled up with. This is Louise Pennys latest, and 15th in the Inspector Gamache series. This is the first of hers Ive read, and halfway through Im well and truly hooked! Its a murder mystery without all the gore and shock, a more traditional detective story with strong and interesting characterization. If youre a fan of the more literary crime novel like Tana French, Robert Galbraith and Kate Atkinson, do give Louise Penny a try!

07.01.2022 Confessions of a bookseller... sometimes we repeatedly recommend books that we havent read! (I mean, I read A LOT, but my TBR pile is endless!) This is one such book. I love passing this one on because it has such broad appeal. Its a quaint little story about a retired mans quest to walk the length of Britain. It turns into a modern day pilgrimage and the lessons learned will absolutely resonate with EVERYBODY. The last subscriber I sent this to messaged me with such a heartfelt review, I couldnt ignore this gem any longer! So Im reading it now, and it is, indeed, Amazing! ( if anyone wants to read it after me, let me know )

03.01.2022 Do you have weekend reading plans? Heres mine! 1. Going to start this Lisa See book. I cant go past this sublime cover and Im in a historical saga kinda mood! 2. Nevermoor, have been dying to find this and read it to my kids. I came across it on Monday and we are a good 100 pages in. Perfect for Harry Potter fans and VERY enjoyable to read out loud. 3. Mythos. Will hopefully find some time to start dipping into this too. Greek mythology is a bit of a gap in my education and who better to get me up to speed than Stephen Fry? I might download the audiobook too, I imagine the sound of his voice reading Greek Myths would be a delightful way to go to sleep at night! Happy Reading!
