22.01.2022 Preparation for a spell Last weekend at @thereturningthegathering I held a ritual/workshop called Reclaim the Witch. A process of exploring the archetype of the Witch and how we experience her I led the beautiful women who came of a journey to meet their inner witch. We created a herbal spell together calling her in and wove the spell with movement and song. It was pure magick. I love this ritual so much and would love to be able to hold it over a longer period of time, for a deeper exploration of our experiences and to journey longer. Hmmmm maybe that’s brewing for the spring. Time now to gestate the winter seeds. My deepest gratitude and love to the women who showed up and reclaimed a part of themselves that is often rejected, feared and hated. You are all amazing

Spiders have been very present this year. especially on my Solo where I had loads of little web weavers, ground spiders and one particularly scary trap door spider who tried to get cozy with me on my vigil night. 19.01.2022 This 2020 solstice has seen an explosion in sharing about ascension, aliens, awakenings and its always cloaked in an insistence of being in the light. Well, I’d like to invite you to a different way. How about we embrace the dark? How about we stop ascending and come right home to our bodies? How about we remember that we are indeed already awake: awake to utter magick and mystery of the earth. ... The earth moves through many cycles. From dark to light in one day, one month, one year. Right now we are at the peak, the most light, the most intensity, and in a few short months, we will be in the most dark, the stillness. And both have their magick and both are completely necessary. As humans on this planet, we don’t get to skip these cycles. We journey with her, because we are her. We hold the light and the dark at the same time and move through the cycles with our blood and our bodies. I don’t usually comment on the light worker stuff that fills the community that I live and work in. I figure people can believe whatever they want. I’m sure there are people out there that think I’m a nutter because I’m a witch. But I’m making a commitment to speak when I see harm. Especially harm that comes in the form of white supremacy. And harm is people descending on Uluru when the traditional custodians have said no. Harm is doing whatever you want, whenever you want, without care for the consequences. Harm is wielding your privilege like a weapon. And so my solstice prayer is 3 fold. For myself, my community and the earth. I give thanks for a strong healthy body. I give thanks for a community that listens with the ears of their heart and commits to unity and dismantling the systems of oppression that keep us from truly being one I give thanks for a thriving, healthy planet that is loved and cared for by all. To birth a drum, your story, your birth, how you birth, how you create, all shows up as you stretch, pull, twist and tighten your hide. Birthing a drum mirrors the birth processs, feeling the wet lacing in your hands as you work to weave your creation. 15.01.2022 Drumming is something I have connected with since I was a child. When I was in primary school I wanted to play percussion in the orchestra based music class. The teacher told me only boys could do that and said I had to choose between the flute and clarinet. When that little girl grew up, she played any goddamn drum she wanted. Reclaiming our women’s lineage of drumming. Reclaiming our innate knowing of rhythm and cyclical beats from our wombs to our drums. Reclaiming ...what has been denied to us. Women drum. We bleed.
