17.01.2022 Most gyms will advertise how their sessions are ‘always different’ or have ‘variety every day’. The rationalisation is to ‘keep the body guessing’. This concept can work in the short term, especially if your training level is very low, but what will work better foreveryonein the long term is following a system. The system in strength training is called periodization. This really just means organising and planning your training ahead of time. 16.01.2022 Play and movement as an adult doesn’t tend to go together in our culture. . . We drive to the sterile brightly lit commercial gym to sit on a bike. It’s ironic. .... . Being able to have the strength, awareness and courage to just get in tune with your inner child can be one of the most compelling things you can do to relax and bring some peace. . . Although our Pack Strength sessions are planned months in advance and follow strong structure we do like to include elements of play such as juggling, handstands, balancing, cross crawling into sessions. . . 04.01.2022 We recently completed a 21 Day Challenge to end 2020 with focus. We had 2 parts - body composition or performance. Both had different programs - with the goal of increasing one particular lift for performance. We had four winners - best improvement in body composition, best improvement on their lift, best improvement and performance on the bench mark workout and a lucky draw for anyone that came 3 x per week or more for the 3 weeks. Congratulations to Loz for winning the be...st performance for the benchmark work out. She also was close to winning the body composition arm of the Challenge. Loz is the core of The Wild Movement and has been training with us almost since we opened in May 2017.
