24.01.2022 When this joke was drawn, I cried fowl, but was told it counted anyway.
24.01.2022 These fine young lads are in Wingello doing some work for their Duke of Edinburg program (https://www.dofe.org). They are camping at the moment and will back next week to learn more about living in a bush fire prone area. If you see them around, give them a good WIngello "G'day"
24.01.2022 The Suzuki 4WD Club has been doing marvellous work helping people throughout Wingello in clearing the fallen trees on their blocks. They come with chainsaws and a great helpful attitude and convert fallen trees into manageable pieces. Thank you for all the help you have provided in Wingello!
23.01.2022 The Crab Apple trees in the "Starway" outside dining area are coming into lovely blooms. Rose has been taking some pretty good photos.
23.01.2022 We have just been given LOTS of plants to give away to Wingello residents to help us get our gardens re-established after the fires by the International Volunteers for Peace. With all this fantastic plant growing weather, pop in and get some plants. Thanks to the team from https://www.ivp.org.au
22.01.2022 This is a very convenient service. Rather than go to Mittagong or Goulburn, you can just pop in to Bundanoon for a number of Services NSW requirements. Tuesday, 1 December, 9:30am to 3:30pm.
22.01.2022 Hello from the fog! We're loving the variety of weather in a Wingello Spring, the battleground between Winter and Summer.
21.01.2022 Everyone's out and about today enjoying this lovely Spring weather! And tomorrow should be just as nice.
20.01.2022 Well worth a visit this Sunday.
19.01.2022 Happy Father's Day! (For tomorrow) As we have done for the last 12 years, we celebrate Dads by giving them FREE ANZAC and Ginger Molasses biscuits when they visit the door on Fathers Day tomorrow. Yay for Fathers.
19.01.2022 INFORMATION REGARDING THE INTRODUCTION OF THE BUSH FIRE DANGER PERIOD IN THE WOLLONDILLY AND WINGECARRIBEE LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREAS: This is to advise that thre BUSH FIRE DANGER PERIOD for the above areas will come into effect on the 1st OCTOBER 2020
18.01.2022 Cicadas Go! Collect them all. (And then put them back) After being buried for so many years, lots of Cicadas are surfacing and wondering where all the pine trees have gone! Then they climb as high as they can on fences, trees and bushes, escape from their old shell, do their thing and burrow down again for the next cycle. Our children counted 67 in the back yard and got to 120 on a small walk before giving up counting. Life in the country is cool!
16.01.2022 Wingello Village News is out. Say "G'day", it's the Australian thing. http://wingello.blogspot.com//wingello-village-news-octobe

14.01.2022 Grammar is important.
14.01.2022 These lovely ladies from Community Links will be back in the store tomorrow morning (Saturday) from 8am to 10am. They are a treasure trove of information that can help anyone working on recovery from the bushfires. It is amazing the contacts these ladies have! Pop in and have a chat and I am sure they can help.
14.01.2022 Starting TODAY at 1pm.
14.01.2022 Here is a great way to let Council hear what you would like at our park in Wingello.
12.01.2022 The crab apple trees are working overtime, bursting with Spring pinkness! Lena is enjoying her tea under the lovely blooms.

12.01.2022 Now that is what a real train sounds like! Thanks for the video Nic.
10.01.2022 James had his first day as a volunteer Firie with the Wingello Rural Fire Brigade. He is very glad he was able to work alongside his fellow and neighbouring villagers preparing for the new fire season.
10.01.2022 The hall has a great display of the January 2020 fire from 10am to 2pm today. Pop in and you can see a collection of memorable slices of last January. There is a people's choice award too, so pop along and support this great initiative. Our photo of the fires burning behind the store that prompted us to retreat win 1st Prize. A summary of our story is beside the photo.
10.01.2022 Wingello has been attacked by Graffiti vandals overnight. Every public building - Fire Station, Hall, Bus shelter, park and train station - has been tagged with graffiti. They began on the shop but may have been disturbed by James near midnight. The police are on to it but this means a difficult clean up. Camera footage is now being reviewed to see if we can catch the idiots. If anyone was travelling through the village last night please come forward.
09.01.2022 Pop Up Market of Artisans (PUMA) is in Wingello. A collection of very talented artists and artisans from Canberra have their amazing craft on display at the Wingello Store in Maple Lane. Come in and have a look and see the works of art in glass, wood, metal and more.
08.01.2022 Maybe a coffee would help.
08.01.2022 The first band has begun. A lovely afternoon in the shade of the trees at Wingello Primary School. Come on down and enjoy the music.
07.01.2022 Graffiti is NOT a victimless crime. I needed a little more than a FB post to cover the point! https://wingello.blogspot.com//graffiti-is-not-victimless-
07.01.2022 Some familiar faces in that photo. That is why the local fire brigade is such an important part of the village. Our villagers working to help us.
07.01.2022 Christmas can't be too far away now! The Coreopsis flowers are blooming with their vivid yellows, contrasting beautifully with the dark greens of Christmas Trees growing around Wingello. This lonely tree is all that is left of last year's Christmas Tree crop as the rest of the field on Murromba Road lies fallow.
06.01.2022 Congratulations David!
04.01.2022 This is an excellent little summary of recognising the impact of memories of last year's fires. We noticed this when we smelled smoke from some burning off last month and while watching the excellent Australian film "Rams" which had some bushfire scenes. Remember we all experienced this together and it is good to chat about this with your fellow villagers, especially over a cuppa.
04.01.2022 As luck would have it the council had already scheduled a much needed repaint of the bus shelters this week. This not only brightens up the bus shelters bus also gets rid of the graffiti. Excellent timing!
04.01.2022 An important gardening tip in this marvellous growing weather.
04.01.2022 A great video featuring The Parkers and The Land for Wildlife program. Very positive message at the end regarding recovery after the bushfires. https://youtu.be/Db-wHyO38wo
02.01.2022 More of our new volunteers into the Wingello Rural Fire Brigade!
02.01.2022 The Sun is shining and looks great from inside, through a window, in front of a fire, sipping a hot drink and having a hot meal. Like here!
02.01.2022 Want to gather and enjoy some good music? These bands are sharing their talents with us so we can finally have that concert we have been trying to have since the fires! So come along and enjoy the day.
02.01.2022 Steam trains are always cool. As Wingello is one of teh few easily accessible level crossings, we are a great place to catch a glimpse of the trains as they come through.
01.01.2022 Arrr. It's International Talk Like A Pirate Day. So at Wingello, we're getting into the spirit now the day, me hearties! Now back to work! Swab the decks, or it's the plank for ye.
