21.01.2022 Little Martha came in to care 171g late Friday night Gaining weight 5 days now 181g

19.01.2022 This is a really sad one so this little girls mum was hit by a car and mum was extremely hurt but not killed Mums injures where so bad she had to be put to sleep We had already noticed Mum had a wee joey on board that we were praying would be a viable weight to raise as the joey had allready let go of mums teat to get joey out was fairly easy and joey had to be removed regardless of size to with be raised or pts. But I was so very sad to see her daughter the tiny wombat joey... only weighed 41g. Now I’m a dab hand at raising small joeys but 41g is really pushing my abilities and the joey to survive Being so very tiny So I’m so sad that we had to have the joey pts as well as mum wombat We return joey back in mums pouch so they were back together again R.I.P. mum and bub wombat May you stay free and safe from now on

17.01.2022 Martha and Willow Martha we are wondering if she has dwarfism ! While Martha came in very small when willow came in to care there was only 100g difference in there weights. Meaning we could buddy them together ... We were very pleased as we were hoping to have a buddy for Martha and willow but Willow is way to big to buddy. And Martha isn’t growing. Or she is but very slow now we are starting to wonder if Martha is a dwarf. She is super healthy very playful eats well just little. While they would be a weight difference we would not expect over 2kg difference

16.01.2022 Bless this little girl she is 2.6kg very stressed she was found with her very sick mum Sadly mum was pts and her joey came in to care very sad. But we will do our best to help this little one settle in At the moment lots of growling biting and lunging at me. But she is drinking her bottles ... At the moment she is called Gretchen the Grouch

14.01.2022 Our other new orphan is little smosh face She took a bit of a face hit when mum was killed Damaged eye but it’s healed luckily, broken bottom teeth / top teeth very loose which caused a infection and antibiotics so a vet trip was needed the infection is all clear now. She has a couple of nasty scabs on her face which are loads better now. Little smosh face was always so easy to fed even with the pain and infection in her mouth she never missed a bottle She is a dear girl and healing well

11.01.2022 Poor little Magoo (named by a friend) Came in just yesterday found all alone Walking down the road. Dehydrated very skinny But is enjoying his hydration fluids and his wombat fomular so good times ahead for him

07.01.2022 Spent the week putting back together 2 wombat enclosure Still got to dig the tunnel in add some tuff grass plants. Not sure if I will try grass seeds while wombat are in there So will have to continue the grass picking

06.01.2022 Baby Martha from 171g to 205g this morning in her first week in care! Sadly if Martha had be taken to the vets due to the guide lines she is classed as Non Vi...able And would have been put to sleep. Iv no comment on that one I’m just bloody disappointed and wonder what idiot decided on these guide lines, as I know when I asked to be involved, I was told no and they would not tell me the people involved in making them .. please please if your in Tasmania and find a Orphan please consider taking it to a carer instead of a vet .. Wildlife carers are much more advanced in viability and carer, for the orphans than the people that have decided what is and isn’t viable.. See more
