18.01.2022 PLEASE SHARE: Governments Must Act to Prevent Final Curtain for Live Performance Industry. We only have days to ensure our industry is safeguarded. If you want ...to help: write to government to add your voice to that case, here are some emails addresses also. The more voices in the next 48 hours, the better. PM advisor: [email protected] Josh Freydenburg: [email protected] [email protected] Mathais Cormann: [email protected] Details below: This afternoon LPA released the following media statement, which includes details of LPA's emergency industry package. This statement was made in conjunction with the Live Industry Peak Body Alliance, Music Industry Alliance and MEAA (Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance): Australia’s live performance industry needs an assurance from the Federal Government it will be included in the next economic stimulus package. This is urgently required to prevent a complete and permanent industry shutdown, costing thousands of jobs and forcing the closure of performing arts and commercial companies and venues for good. Our industry is shedding jobs by the hour - but so far little has been said by the Prime Minister or Treasurer on their plan to help the thousands of performers, artists, creatives, technical and road crew or sustain hundreds of performing arts and commercial companies, including music promoters, producers, venues and all the service providers that keep the industry alive, said LPA Chief Executive Evelyn Richardson. The next stimulus package must include an unequivocal focus on supporting live performance through immediate and longer-term measures that will support our people and businesses. LPA has put forward a comprehensive $750 million emergency support package to the Commonwealth, state and territory governments. Today all of Australia’s peak bodies and the Media Entertainment and Arts Alliance (MEAA) stand united in calling for a clear commitment from government that it will adopt these measures, otherwise, it’s the final curtain for Australia’s world class live performance industry which has fostered generations of local and global talent, Ms Richardson said. This is an economic, social and cultural emergency that demands a fast, creative, flexible and agile response from all levels of government, Ms Richardson said. An overview of LPA’s emergency industry package can be found below. 17.01.2022 Hello everybody! Just so you know, this will be the final Woohoo show for the indefinite future as this guy Stefan Nocevski is leaving us to go to Gua Trumpet Festival and soak up some vitamin D in Macedonia. Only one of the many reasons to get your cheap presale tickets before Friday.

15.01.2022 Next Saturday 15th will mark 22 years of Bar Open and we're celebrating with The Pirateska Rebellion. https://www.facebook.com/events/1462433313920742/

10.01.2022 Box office has closed for tonight's show but there are still tickets available on the door. Come and celebrate this pretty face.

10.01.2022 Reminiscing in light of our show at Open Studio tonight. (Event in comments.)

04.01.2022 We got one last hoorah in us before Stefan Nocevski flies the coup back home to Macedonia til September, and it's a DOOZY... The Gasometer Hotel with 8Foot Felix for their 8th birthday party and single launch PLUS we're finally sharing the stage with fellow dance-floor dusters China Beach. Pre-buying tickets is highly recommended cos last time we did a show with 8Foot, back in 2012 with some different faces, over 450 people showed up and we're allowed in the door. Here's evidence! (Tickets and facebook event in the comments.)

01.01.2022 While we await Macedonia's answer to Rocky Balboa, Stefan Nocevski to return from slaying giants at Guca Trumpet Festival with Opa, let's announce that we'll be playing the Elite Masquerade Ball, hosted by Culture Jam at The Thornbury Theatre on Oct 26, because we are the 1%. Our relationship with the venue goes back a long way, to one of our first ever photo shoots in 2010 (isn't little Madi Weybury cute!?), to Justin Ossher's terrifying Halloween show in 2012 (what a lineup!) and the Christmas show we did with Mustered Courage where Mikelangelo played some sort of Elvis/Santa. Tickets will vanish quickly, as they typically do, so jump on them here and witness the next memorable chapter: https://www.culturejam.com.au/theball/
